Hey guys, looking for a few questions answered as I finish (hopefully) gearing up my GF.
My GF Character Sheet Link
First of all, I created him to run around with some lower geared friends, run them through dungeons etc. I'll PvP occasionally, but mostly PvE. I went mostly along the lines of Dkcandy's regen/deflect build, but I've also mixed in a bit of Strength to boost power too. Since I run this build with some of my lower geared friends, I thought boosting my power a bit would help overall to make things run smooth. Once they get geared up and have a better handle on what they are doing, I'll swap over to my CW and only run the GF when necessary,
I'll be running SP as often as I can until I get my helm to finish off the set, but can anyone tell me if the power bonus from the 4 piece Grand Regent set doubles from the Reckless Attacker feat (and a full guard meter)?
With my current stats, I'm at just over 50% damage resistance, and 26% chance to deflect
@50%. Is there any point to trying to drive this higher? What are some good end goals for these two defensive stats? With my Dex at 19, is it reasonable to try to get deflect into the 33% range?
I'm running with a Greater Bronzewood enchant. Should I stack some ArPen to go along with it, or just rely on the enchant and instead focus on beefing up my Crit instead?
I'm leveling my Ioun Stone of Allure now, so I have some room to be a bit flexible both in the gear I still need for my GF and for my Stone, plus open enchant slots. My plan is to use a couple of open slots on my GF to bump my power (and get the bonus from the RA feat), and use my Stone to boost Crit and maybe Recovery (which is REALLY low).
My regen is over 1k, at what point does it stop being useful to pump that up? Its' difficult to judge when it doesn't show your regen rate until you are actually damaged.
Once I determine which stats to keep pushing (like regen vs deflect or both), I can start farming for rings and a new necklace as well.
Thanks!

I went with a 2+ Arm Pen bonus for 850. My Ion Stone is in training right now, but it transfers 1,000 Arm Pen, 500 in Crit/Rec/Power and 200 Regen.
As far as your gear goes, I think it depends on how you tank. I have 50% Damage Resistance and a 18% chance to Deflect, but I don't tank with my pretty face. I went Tactician spec and use a lot of encounters to keep mobs away from the squichies and not doing any damage. If you use a particular encounter rotation, you might invest more in Recovery instead of Crit. Doing 10-15% damage than you are doing right now v. getting Bullcharge to come up when the Phaze Spider is between you and the ledge. (Of course, I have Arm Pen at 24% so YMMV.)
I didn't really notice any amount of Critical strikes in combat until I had broken 1000. I could really take it or leave it as far the increase in damage. I ended up with some largely in my pursuit of 24% Arm Pen.
When I got my 2+ High General set and slotted out my blue regen pieces I lost about 500 Defense, and my Damage Resistance went down by .5%. I've done lots of MC with GF tanks with 6,000 in Defense and never met one whose stats enabled them to face-tank the second boss without a 100% application of Healing Word. On the other hand, I can tank and kill the boss in my Tactician build with minimal Cleric support.
As far as your Greater Bronzewood, I confess that I'm not a fan. I slotted a Bronzewood between levels 40-50 and the mark proc was just too rare. When I switched to my Deluzon weapon at 60, my ability to hold agro was vastly improved although nothing stat-wise really changed except those enchants. I run with a Greater Bilethorn now and have no trouble with agro even though I'm not feated for it and don't slot Enhanced Mark (except for FH when I don't do very much damage).
My regen is about 1200 and I've found that's pretty good, as strong as a level 60 regen pot ticking on me once I hit 50% health.
