Yet another CW shield nerf. Tell me, is the ultimate plan to make every power practically useless? If so, the devs are certainly doing extraordinary job!

Next patch singularity only will get two mobs at a time and on next one your account is deleted...Could at least bumped a little more damage resistance to make it at least still a little useful.
I'm not against balancing the powers I'm against letting the content impossible to people to complete except the ones that exploit it.
And nothing about the stupidly hard dungeons for pugs, even when all the exploiters already have all the items anyway, could at least let more casual people play the game... at least T1 and old t2 dungeons should get a better balance with the actual level of the players and not only match the extremely well geared or coordinated, not everyone want/can play with a guild or a fixed team all the time.
I loved the new content and I'm happy with the amount of stuff being put on the game, but really could use some dungeon balancing people! for god's sake!
Soooo how the hell am I supposed to bounce the gazillion of adds that spawn on every fricking boss fight off ledges now? Oh what's that? I'm not supposed to? Those ledges are there just as a artistic move? Bouncing of ledges is no intended? Whaaaaa?
...
Srsly though, if they rebalanced every single old dung to be like Malabog's (waaaaaaay less mobs but most are very powerful) it'd make at least a bit of sense but like this?

Ahh..., finally a patch that addresses my very expensive and bugged Plague Fire enchantment ...
But wait, you haven't actually fixed the enchantment?... "The Plague Fire enchantments now correctly show up in the auction hall under enchantments instead of runestones." Ah well well, perhaps the next patch then, I have all the time in the world...

Oh, oh, I know! Don't control. They're going to give us additional damage reduction so we can just run into the middle of the fray and tank the mobs! :rolleyes:
When I play Star Trek Online, a party of random players in the best gear can be challenged in the end game content, but even with repeated deaths victory feels close and attainable. In Neverwinter, a party of random players in T2s and Rank 6+ enchantments gets their face stomped. You need organized groups of the right composition, and I've gotten so sick of the difficulty curve that I barely play anymore.
It's not even like Shield is that great now that it doesn't allow for Singularity chains, many don't even carry it anymore. How about you fix the things that need fixing, as opposed to the things that don't? Who the heck was complaining about Shield? Not like we don't need Tabbed Repel to knock back enemies in CN anyway.
So, for those of use that actually use the shield to mitigate damage, how about a little bump in the "non-tab" shield strength. Or better yet, let it pop back to full after 4 or 5 secs instead of 6.
I mean, all it takes is a mosquito bite to bring that bad boy down to an almost worthless level.
Shard of the Endless Avalanche: The size of the boulder has been reduced to the size of a pea. It may now only affect one target. Damages target for 20 HP. Name changed to "Shard of the Finite Pea".

Just get the endless nerfs over with and let us fight the mobs with sticks and stones. I believe that's the ultimate goal, anyway.
Oppressive Force: Now only affects one target. Animation changed to a giant hand slapping the target. Damages target for 20 HP and changes its color to red. Name changed to "Rude Slap".
In Neverwinter, a party of random players in T2s and Rank 6+ enchantments gets their face stomped.
^This happens too frequently in PUGs. Even if everyone has GS > 10k, can play their classes decently well, the team can still get wiped in supposedly "8300 GS" dungeons.
Nefing yet another CW skill is not the way to go if their intention is to control exploiters IMHO. Maybe they should rename Control Wizard "Controlled Wizard"...

Oh man the curve in this game lol who remembers hitting level 30... it was awefull lol its like YAYYAYYAYYYAY TONS OF CRAPPY DUNGEON MOBS TO KILL! then it was like BAM at level 30 lmfao tons of hard as **** mobs to kill... and god forbid if you had a GWF they tapped them all for 2 damage lol you needed like 9 healers 86 CW's and 999 tanks like du **** and then end game it got HARDER its like doing a Heroic raid in WoW with no gear lol

Well, DC's sunburst in divinity only knocks back 5, so I'm told, so maybe that's where they're trying to go with this, just like repel on tab only does 5. It still doesn't make much sense, but maybe there's some awesoem new stuff in the next paragon path that'll make up for it.
But yeah, it really does lead one to believe that this is just the gateway to further and further CW limitations. Hope they don't!

I'm not saying I agree with the shield changes.. but I still laugh at this.. out of all the classes wizards have actually suffered the least by a huge amount!

I love forums, when a class get’s nerfed for whatever reason that class starts pointing fingers at another class to nerf it.
instead of complaining and whining, why can't people/ players put down reason why it should not have been nerfed or justify having another ability enhanced?
Every class in every MMO out there gets nerfed, it is a fact, i don't know of any MMO that has put the magic touch on a class or classes and said it is perfect no one touch it.
Nerfing classes is a fact in MMO games, it is not fun i agree but come on, it means you need to learn your class and do the best with it. As for dungeons, yes those need to be balanced for the tier level they are in T1 or T2, then possibly the nerfing will not be so drastic.
Oh dear , the CW who's job it is to be able to aoe/control multiple enemies is being placed under the nerf bat , looks like Ranger is due just in time..
I have to assume they are balancing things to some future state of the game, like the post-mod 2 build. I would think the shield nerf was to stop the parties want 3 cws, so now they will need 4 or 5? So when it determines the 5 it tosses, is this just the closest or is there logic to toss the most deadly?
Again, i am thinking there is another campaign in Mod2 that has a boon that made shield seem 'too good', or the numbers of mobs are going down to a point where you do not need to control 15 at time....
They have to see something we do not...
