We all knew this new game was full of bugs, thats fine its to be expected but never in my wildest dreams did i ever think an MMO could actually damage a computer by its faults. im no computer expert but id say i know much more then your average person.

Long story short after the game was installed on my brand new laptop which by far succeeds the requirements for the game it started to run alot worse for whatever reason, the game was fun for a while but after being DC'ed for a bad map file i tried to re-launch the game, the auto verify process started and froze on 272/54XX fill. i waited about 30 mins and came back to the pc and no progress had been made, tried closing launcher and nothing, it became unresponsive, Alt+crtl+delete for task manager and still nothing, then the computer crashes to the Blue Screen of Death..... seriously? this is usually as far as i know only caused by hardware malfunctions or major errors within the OS, it gave me some mumbo jumbo of a missing file before the screen went away and the reboot commenced. after the computer was done rebooting i figured id give it another try. same thing, froze on the same spot and again went to the BSOD but this time with a similar but different issue, i turned off the auto verify and the game launched and ran ok for about 1 hour before freezing the laptop while loading CN and again nothing would work, no task manager no nothing so i was forced to do a hard reset. i scanned my PC for malware, viruses and ran CCleaner on the registry and cleared cache. no malware or virus were found so at this point i was unsure of what the issue was. then while trying to log in this morning it started to verify again even though)and yes i checked) it was still disabled, it froze in the EXACT same spot as before and locked the pc up sending it to the BSOD a 3rd time.

heres the kicker, now every single time i go to boot the laptop it goes the the "Gateway" logo screen with the little loading circle.... and nothing. safe mode result defaults, nothing, it even started on an auto repair on same gateway screen after a couple more reboots and still nothing, i left it there for 6 hours and its still loading, i called the tech support for the laptop and they said its obvious to them the Windows OS is not being launched so its damaged and needs a complete HD wipe and re-install from ground ZERO.

i know that most of you could be thinking ohhh this could have been any number of things besides neverwinter causing this issue. i agree your correct but trust me. when i bought this laptop i installed ONLY neverwinter, Teamspeak,CCleaner and Malwarebytes pro. other than that there is literally nothing else on this pc except for the programs it came with. i have a desktop and smart TV that i use for everything else. the laptop has only ever been used for playing neverwinter. it was actually the only reason i bought it in the first place. so yes maybe it was something else but really? it seems pretty clear to me and yes this might be one of those one in a million cases but SERIOUSLY? like i said never have i played an MMO with an issue as severe as this, now i get to wait weeks while i send the pc to the guys at gateway to check it out and make sure nothing else is wrong with it. fix the issue and hopefully find out the cause

with all that being said i will not be returning to neverwinter no matter how much i still enjoy the game. worst part is i just dropped over 100$ on zen last night on neverwinter lol but thats that. still not worth potentially destructing another pc.

Rx7 out

spam/troll all you want i said everything i wanted to say. goodluck to everyone

Could be a faulty harddrive. Hard to imagine this'd be a software issue, though I'm no expert.

yeah, totally looks a hardware problem, not a software one.

Chances are it was your hard reset that did the damage.

the game and the laptop ran perfect since beta, it didnt start doing this till a few days ago and as i said the BSOD came up only when running the verify process in the launcher, and i highly doubt 1 hard reset cause enough damage to give me this issue especially considering it didint happen untill after the multiple BSOD's occured
