the challenge of playing a GF tank in this game is being flexible in your power and daily spec to work around your party. If you have a party that wants to burn everything but yelps the moment anyone takes a hit then go full threat/valor to intercept 50 percent of damage and hold max aggro on everything. For some reason folks in this game assume its WOW and expect never to be hit. You just get used to it in pugs. If your in a party that has a low level healer or inexperienced, then go for something thats high regen/heal spec that includes fighters recovery and maybe iron warrior. I never try to get top dps, I just use whatever it takes to keep myself alive, benefit the group and down the boss. My perspective, your a tank... Allow others to do what they are designed to do (pew pew, heal, churn and burn mobs, etc..) and mitigate as much as possible to allow them to shine. Does this make sense?

You can ignore that guy he refuses to group with trs or cws who do anything other than tab entangle 5 mob pulls only so his gwf can do "leet" dps, farming pk. He also considers 5man content "raids" because of the time required to do them in his version of "legit" runs actually is comparable to real raids from other mmos. For the rest of us its only 20min runs but thats because we group with trs and dont pigeon hole our cws as sing/entangle bots.

So far from what is really happening. You really have no clue what you are talking about.

TR's have a lot of advantages over other classes when it comes to one on ones. But CW's are hardly hopeless for soloing boss fights since they have abilities that can tie up the boss and adds. Keeping multiple chill stacks on mobile bosses allows for CW's to stay out of range of their melee attacks while still doing damage. It's not as convenient as stealth, but makes for some fun gameplay. :)

I am sure that most TR's can out-damage most GWF's by light years. That's kind of how it works and appears to be WAI. :)

I have never seen a TR come close to my gwf in damage. I wish there was one that was above me, because then I would know we have a superstar TR on our hands.

Good thing is we are all on the same server now. So feel free to message us anytime.

LOL, I've seen very few GWF's who can match most non-permastealth TR's in terms of damage. Glad that you had such a HAMSTER GWF and it is sad that you haven't ever played with highly effective TR's.

The majority of GWFs that I have played with via pugs and randoms have been terrible. I can see why many of you come to the conclusion that they are bad. I'm not saying the TR won't do good in certain situations (like single target boss damage), but when it comes to AOE damage (which is 99% of this whole game), they can't do anything.

I'm not here to toot my own horn, I'm just saying for doing PVE content, the rogues aren't as good as a properly played GWF/GF/CW. Their damage and survivability just doesn't make up for it.

I did a chart on another thread based on Damage output + Survivability when playing their class at the highest level, here is what you get:

    1. GWF
    2. GF
    3. CW
    4. TR

If we did it based on pure damage, it would look like this:

    1. CW
    2. GWF
    3. GF
    4. TR

There is a GF in our guild (his name is @dut01 if you want to look him up) that will out dps any rogue out there.
