Any chance level restrictions will be eased for companions? It's so ridiculous when you're in a dungeon and half the team bails or people don't know how to "load out" their characters to benefit the party.

When you say "companions" are you referring to other players? Even augment companions, IIRC, don't affect your gearscore, if that's what you're talking about. Regardless, there is a certain segment of the population that equate a higher GS to a better player, and while it may mean that character has a higher potential level of performance, it doesn't necessarily mean that player will be more skilled...

I've been in dungeons where there is a language barrier and when players can't form a strategy they bail. Not good. I'm talking about item companions pets etc. I need someone too pick up slack when someone leaves. But now that I think about it, a GM companion would make life easier. Especially queuing for dungeons. Can't find enough players? AI companions will join the team.

I think replacing a dropped teammate w/ some sort of friendly NPC is a dangerous proposition. The reason I say this is because it may become commonplace for players to start intentionally kicking others, since even with the limited AI, and NPC could be considered "favorable" in some circumstances. If said NPC doesn't get figured in to loot rolls, this would further complicate matters...
Instead, I'd rather see a system put in place to replace lost teammates, even after the 1st boss is defeated.

In a not-so-distant past we had several groups who would intentionally kick people prior to defeating a boss so they could horde all the loot... An NPC replacement would give them that chance again and I am 100% against it.
I agree with bioshrike though, we need to have the ability to invite people to replace a lost team member somewhere before the 2nd boss. First boss is rather simple on MOST Dungeons and its value is of little concern for all but CN and MC, so it would make sense to allow this.

The fact that you can invite people into a party in almost every other MMO just proves this is not true. I'd take the very rare instance of the abuse occurring over the common instance of someone quitting the party and not being able to complete a dungeon I have already wasted my playtime on.

You are saying two different things here - you say that in other MMOs you can invite someone into a party when someone has dropped. I agree we need something like this here. My contention is with people kicking someone, knowing that they'll be replaced w/ an NPC that wouldn't cut in on their chances at the loot.
I also think that any system that would replace lost teammates would necessarily have to draw from the existing queue or with a random person - so as to avoid the scenario where someone runs a dungeon w/ a PUG, kicks them all, then replaces them w/ friends just before the last boss.

I didn't think you could kick someone from a dungeon when you computer que pick.
I guess maybe a reset would be in order. But all the more reason to remove the companion level caps and just do foundry quests. Which some are really overpowered, I think.
