i'm interested in regen build for pve environment.
Is it true that regen/deflect build is better for pvp only?
and crit/power/arp build is always better for pve?
Regen is good when u are getting hit by big and rare hits cause of how it works: heals u a % of your total missing hp so at full hp it does nothing! Deflect is providing at 50% severity a protection of half the number u;ve seen, as pve goes HP is more often a better choice after u hit a certain amount of defense 3500+, u need to do your math and see cause it depends on your hp. Deflect is good in pvp cause ar pen is not affecting it. In my experiece a tanky/regen GF put near a strong dps will do absolutely nothing due to poor dmg hence poor threat and if u have high damage is better to put lifesteal which also increases your threat. Often in a pug a full tank GF/GWF will do dmg lower then a DC and takes the lowest dmg of the grp! So regen is good when u kite and u are getting hit by huge hits, add shield on that and it does great! u find that situation more in pvp environment and rly rare in pve.
PvE: output is threat or damage. High offensive stats best in most situations.
PvP: incoming is high unmitigated burst damage. Good or high defensive stats required.
Therefore, in most situations against equivalently geared opponents in PvP, Regen is a useful stat.
Personally, the only time I switch to a Regen set in PvE is when I am kiting a huge train of mobs, like in Epic Frozen Heart. I do not need to switch to this set, but it can be sometimes useful to give myself breathing room in case anything goes wrong (hate using potions on a GF because you cannot use them while your Guard is up).
