I have had several reviews related to a players having a slower end computer.

One review said...

My computer froze up at the end! 1 star....

Or,

The loading times were to long. 1 star....

I have had a few PMs asking what is the % of gold that drops on my foundry. I always respond with a 100%!! :)

    Yup.

This is one of the problems with the current review system. I realize that the reviews are supposed to be skewed in such a way that a single oddball review/rating has less of an impact on the overall score of the quest. Yet my experience has been that it only takes one person coming along with an unjustifiable 1-star complaint to drag the overall score down disproportionally... with absolutely no way for an Author to contest the rating. (Hey, at least most online retailers or auction sites that allow user reviews have a chance for the retailer to post a reply to a negative rating, offering to fix the problem or providing information that allows consumers to better understand the complaint.)

Every so often, I'll still get dinged by someone complaining that there was no loot in the final chest (which, of course, there's nothing I can do about that... but it still yanks down my average rating and leaves me hoping that Cryptic will address that bug eventually). Or then comes the random 1-star reviews with simply "!" as the comment (at one point, I got a whole string of 'em all at the same time... hmm... botting, anyone?).

How about the reviews where someone posts 2 or 3 stars and complains that the adventure was too short or too long (leaving me wondering if they even read the green highlighted text displaying the average runtime of a quest before they accept it). Or the one who says that the quest was too easy for their 3-man group despite the description saying it's intended for solo play.

Or my all-time favorites are the ones where someone suggests I turn off the fog because it makes their system a bit laggy (even though it's only a standard one-click Foundry FX, and the title of the adventure is "Danger in the Fog," but, ya know, what the heck...).

    :P

In my first quest, a key asset was sometimes invisible to players with weaker systems. It was a simple basket, but it tended to not display correctly. I also got 1 stars for that :x
