Hey, I played this game back when it came to open beta a while back, and found myself kinda dissapointed. Its been a while and friends have been telling me its better, but I thought id ask you guys.

1. Is it still populated, or has the game become a ghost town now?

2. How is the end game now? Gotten better, worse?

3. Spammers still running the streets? :P

4. Any big improvements to gameplay I outta be aware of?

5. Ive always been a fan of two handed weapon users, so hows the GWF doing nowadays?

Sorry for the amount of questions, and thanks in advance.

    1. Seems to have less players.
    2. Depends on your perspective. All Epic T2 Chest loot is BoP. Some Epic T2 bosses drop blue items.
    3. Yes.
    4. Not that I can think of.
    5. All GWFs got nerfed. Sents are still very strong in PVP.

Just checked the first 3 pages of general chat...the only thing even remotely close to this was a guy going on about weird email promotions :P

    1. Not a clue what you're taking about. There's players all over the place, and queueing for a dungeon takes less than five minutes with the dungeon finder. I'd say there's even more players now than before, but that's just me.

    2. Never cared about the whole endgame-stuff anyway, so I wouldn'tk now. Why rush to content that's never there?

    3. Not really. Some are still here, but they are easily ignored.

    4. Other than module 1? New races? The whole new area? Tons of bug-fixes, balancing and improvements?

    5. Just as awesome as the rest. But please go to the GWF-forum for more info on them. Everything you'll ever wanted to know about them can be found in that forum.

    1. There are plenty of people on Mindflayer. I can't say about other servers.

    2. There is more to do endgame, especially for solo players, with the new area.

    3. I wouldn't know. One of the first things I do when starting a character is turn off that channel.

    4. There have been several changes to characters meant to be balancing.

    5. It was reported that a long standing bug related to Unstoppable was fixed.

For detailed information regarding GWF it would be best to consult their forum.

Here's a thought. It's a free game. Play it. If you don't like it, don't play it. Your opinion is the only one that should matter for you since you are the one playing. For me the game is awesome and well worth the price, which is personally higher than most cuz I enjoy paying for those **** keys ;p Every time I see these rediculous posts I feel like someone is behind the scenes trying to data mine the 'state of the game'

    1. Hasn't changed that much on Dragon, still a lot of players.

    2. Still limited without much to do. Feywild dailies can keep you occupied 15mins a day, but thats about it after you're done grinding the dungeons.

    3. Yea, they have more ways to filter them, but they just adapt and alter there tactics.

    4. Big, no.. But there's been plenty of small refinements that have improved it.

    5. Still terrible in pve, and very powerful in pvp. Nothings really changed other then they can't tank 5 guys attacking them at once anymore, maybe only 4 now heh.

I kinda felt gwfs got pretty heavy nerfed in pvp just from reading. But the other day I played against my gwf gulidie I haven't seen in a while - one of the few players geared up as well as me for pvp - or actually better (hes got perfects and rank9s vs my rank7/8s) - and yea me and 2 other guys couldn't take him down.
so yea doesn't really seem like they got hit that hard after all.

If anything, with the further ways to boost HP, the tanky GF and GWF loaded with tenebrous only got stronger.. My GF hits 38k hp now full buffed and does some pretty sick damage. GWFs can easily hit 43k+ hp with the same buff potions i use.

1: way less players then open beta or soft launch. Like 1/8th the players now since that time.
2: end game still not there, well they added some stuff but the dailies are so boring and you have to repeat them over and over.
3: Spammers will never die in this or any F2P game
4: Still massive exploits for dungeons, people are getting major lag issues. I think from them reducing the servers.
5: I have no idea about the gwf.

DiD you get your email with the bribes to come back and please play the game from cryptic?

    1. Lost about 70% of the population with Module 1 release and the changes that were made with it.

    2. "end game" if you define it as running dungeons to gain gear and AD to improve your character (enchants, etc) has gotten a lot worse. all DD chest set items (t1/t2 sets), glory, GG, and seal items are BOP now. Basically it's much harder to gain gear to sell now and less players playing reduces the total amount of ad coming in to the economy (24k/day/player). So while the average person earns a little more AD a day if they hit the refine cap, prices are 10x as much as prepatch so it's been a huge hit to the value of said income. Most exp players do not run dungeons during DD so you're left with a bunch of inexperienced/undergeared players trying to run dungeons that are too hard for them to do. And they are slowly (very slowly) fixing the shortcuts/exploits in dungeons that allowed said players to actually get gear up.

    3. not as much goldfarmer spam as there used to be. they also added /lfg and /trade channels to filter the spam from real people.

    4. not a lot of improvements to the game sadly. a lot of things have been nerfed, a lot of things are still waiting to be nerfed.

    5. GWF is in a worse spot than open beta. Before there really wasn't a reason for AOE dps cus CWs could just knock trash off. They made it harder in certain dungeons/areas to knock off mobs, and to compensate, fixed a bunch of CW bugs which allowed their already crazy amount of aoe dps to be even better. So before where CWs didn't really focus on dmg because they were busy controlling mobs, they just AOE DPS now, and they are sooo much better at it than GWF. Most common group makeup right now is 3CW 1DC 1TR but the best group right now is 5xCW.

my advice for gwf is get good at running. a GWF (even a very good GF) can sub in for a TR for the "stealth" runs that give TRs a spot in groups. TRs dps has been nerfed pretty hard repeatedly since open beta, and while they're still "top" for single target, it's irrelevant in 3+cw groups. The only reason you bring one is for short cuts like cn first boss + draco skips, and gwf/gf can both do it. heck once i get 30k hp and more deflect to go with my 2k defense i'll probably be able to do the runs on my CW.

Shill. Can't get a pug group in less than an hour if lucky. New content is five minutes of content repeated for 2 months. Nobody wants a gwf in their party on purpose.

It takes 5minutes if you are a GF. It was instant before the patch, which means yeah, tons less players.

Sad to say this but dc's are becoming like gwf, nobody needs them in dungeons anymore. 4 hv cw's + stone and 1 rogue can do just about any dungeon without problem. Heard some guilds run 5 cw's and just melt any dungeon easily.
So easy running dungeons without having to save a dc that the adds always wanna swarm and eat.:)
    Queen of Dragon Server
    Goddess Uniique, lvl 60 DC.
    PinkSugar, lvl 60 CW.
    Baby Cakes, lvl 60 GWF.
    *******, lvl 60 TR.
    Premium Juicebox, lvl 60 CW.
    Pink Exxxtacy, Ranger

There is NO pvp in Neverwinter.

    Populated yes, packed no.

There is endgame content now, but pretty much only related to the Feywild campaign. There is still by far not as much content than the (cumulative) content of the levelling part.

    3. Spammers still running the streets? :P
Spammers, bots, not much has been done against them. Some of them have followed the flow of players and have moved to FF14

    4. Any big improvements to gameplay I outta be aware of?
No. Tons of new mounts, though

    5. Ive always been a fan of two handed weapon users, so hows the GWF doing nowadays?
More and more broken and nerfed with each patch. No kidding.
It has ONE (as opposed to three for the other classes) viable path, and it is a super-expensive one.

Trust me it's far better to ask about a title and pay attention to the number of posts about how bad something than it is to login and be disappointed after spending all that time redownloading a game.

I personally am waiting the new classes before I do anything.

This would be true if the majority of the posts weren't full of negative bias. It is far more common for those that view the game negatively to be the most vocal on the forums, as they have the axes needing grinding.

That is just BS. There is no evidence that proves this at all. Popular games that people like or enjoy would then be like this forum also but for the most part they arnt as negative as this games forum.

Sorry for the amount of questions, and thanks in advance.

    1. The population has been dropping and due to this they are going to soon be merging servers which should help take some of the bite out of things..

    2. No real end game. They did add some dailies and a new dungeon which doesn't pay to run because the gear drops are meh. The daily questing is sort of cool for a few days then it the same old grind again. CN dragon still bugged as far as I know. Final boss of the new dungeon is still bugged also.

    3. They did try to fix the spammer thing but it really doesn't seem much better. The one big improvement is they can only spam so many lines/second or something so the wall of text isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. Seems like 3 spams is what you get rather than 10+ in a wall..

    4. The last module patch broke many things. Lag issues, rubber banding etc. Many exploits have been err.... fixed..... sort of.. Delve chests like others have said are all bop which was a big negative to the dungeon running. They did add a salvage person which is kind of cool. Can turn in lvl 60 epic gear for minimal ad but better than nothing.

    5. GWF is... still a work in progress.........

Ahh i fail to see how this increases the games population. The games population dropping slow and in bursts. Merging servers wont increase populations. All it does is squeeze the remaining population into one shard. With all the lag people have already on the current shards ... LOL this merger is going to be fun to watch.

Plus in no way did the devs say this merger will make the game better for the players. They havnt said queues would be shorter and such.

That's the only strawman argument for those of us who have valid concerns, over my time of playing mmo's of 14 years across 13 games I've heard it in every single forum post about community concerns about where the game is heading as well as whether players will actually finally receive a promised feature. It wasn't anymore true 14 years ago than it is now. Sorry try again.

I get your point. It will not really increase the population of the game. It will increase the population on the shard though as we will have 3 in 1. I agree w/ you 100% though. So far, there hasn't been a patch that hasn't been infested w/ bugs. I can only imagine the disaster that will come from merging the shards. It will be fun to watch though from a non player standpoint though :p
