I keep forgetting about this, I am going to add it today. The most fun I have had in game has been with my guild and other groups that do full clears with no exploits. Thanks for coming up with this!
Good idea. Please post a vid of you completing cn all the way through without more than one cw, and no push offs. I and many here would love to see it.
Challenge, try to the make the video under 2 hours.
No need for quotes anymore. Lost City's eyes are wide open now. Thank god!b:victory
This is a fantastic idea, and I hope someone from Mindflayer incorporates it as I am a member of a guild that does legit dungeon runs. Hope it really helps for the legit community!
It's great to see you all taking initiative and taking a stand against exploiting. We take all reports of exploiting, cheating, and hacking extremely seriously, so please feel free to message me with any information that you may have.
I wish we had such channel on Beholder... even the guild i joined, because i wanted to not compete in doing speed runs... started doing speed runs... (i left their party, like a quitter because of it)
I admittedly didn't read all the posts in this thread, but if you're looking for a guild that doesn't exploit on Beholder, I recommend the Unrepentant. We've been blacklisted for refusing to exploit!
Our charter also specifically forbids it.

I had a great run last night - I know I am the weak link in the chain and need some improvement, but this has already been corrupted. had 2 dd runs with parties supposedly formed in this channel, both had people doing exploits and expecting them and both ended because the same folks abandoned the run after a level of adversity.
I think we need a list of people that are using the channel but are exploiting - or a clear definition of what exploiting means. major roller coaster here. so excited last night and then epic exploit fail this morning
Fighters of the Preposterous. We're a relatively new guild in Mindflayer, mind you, but we're dedicated to running the dungeons without using wall hacks and such.

Send me a pm with the name of the players and the kind of exploits used.
Is not allowed to:
1) Bug Bosses
2) Run and die to skip fights
3) Use Glitch, going throught the textures
You can pull down to the edge adds if they can push you too
Words are like arrows. Once loosed, you cannot call them back

While I absolutely and unreservedly agree with your first three points, pushing enemies off ledges is not an exploit. It is a tactic which makes use of several classes' skills in combination with the environment. In fact, as a GF, this "rule" would ban me from the exploit-free crowd by virtue of the fact that two of the skills I use in almost every encounter (Bull's Rush and Frontline Surge) push and can easily send a foe off a ledge... and in the case of Frontline Surge this can easily be accidental. It's also worth pointing out that the final boss of SP appears to be designed specifically for this tactic. I suggest you modify this "rule" from "if they push then you can push" to "if you can fall off a ledge and die then so can they".
But pushing enemies off edges, or just to "somewhere they cant attack me" is not a buguse/exploit/whatever to me.
Maybe its not the fine way, ok... If its somewhre they die, just a sidekick effect...
But as long there are knockback skills and places of these... Dunno, I dont see a problem in there.
Feels a bit like a antivirus tool to me - you can also detect and delete a virus by yourself, but a tool makes it kinda easier...
I'd just say, talk about in the party, if everyone's fine with knock-death, do it - if not, just simply kill em regulary...
A convenient bind to chat into the channel quickly and easily is: /bind numpad9 "startchatwith /c beholderlegitdungeons "
Then, you need only press 9 on the number pad, then start typing, to send your message to the BeholderLegitDungeons channel. I use similar binds for all the custom channels I chat on frequently...

I do not consider using an ability to push a mob off a cliff as an exploit. What i was talking about was someone having the party wait while that snuck past first boss in FH.
I was more disappointed when we left after 2 attempts on the end boss. I figured I would go along since i was in party and did not want to just drop and screw it up for the other folks that were in for a legit run as well. My guess is we were recruiting from both channels.
Also, if you only have a partial group gathered from this channel, and que up to get the rest, chances are, you are getting some folks that do not want a legit run.
So in Kund, if you sneak along the side to get past the mobs without aggro, then pull them up to the choke point to fight, exploit or no exploit? I noticed you cannot climb up to the high points and have your CW take out the first boss any longer... however, my 9.6 GS toons are so underpowered in there, I do not see how I can run this for some time. Same with FH and the end boss... the perpetual kite is necessary and even after defeating the boss, we had to all die to let the endless spawn of adds subside.
I hope the mods continue to watch these threads and people realize, the developers (according the the MOD2 article from massive) look at the stats, how many potions are being used, how many folks complete and in what time frame. Once people all start to do legit runs, then true metrics will reveal these massive balance issues. I feel it makes no sense that someone with a 9.6 gs should have issues with a 6800 gs rated dungeon. I know it is a min requirement, but if you hit the next tier min, you should be in a position to complete the previous tier. If it cannot be done without kiting (while not a real exploit, i cannot see the devs thinking this is how it should work i prefer to consider it a poor balance rather than impossible design)

So what will be the plan for this channel and its clones for other servers now that that server merge has been announced?
That is bridge to be crossed when the time comes. We have always known the Merge was coming, just not when. The announcement leaves us in exactly the same position, nothing new we didn't already know was put out. The channels owners will just have to merge their channels, and kill the existing ones.
So in Kund, if you sneak along the side to get past the mobs without aggro, then pull them up to the choke point to fight, exploit or no exploit?
Passing mobs and attack from other side to have a better position for fighting or whatever, I'd say no exploit.
As long as you can pass them by "normal" walking, without any climbing it's OK I'd say.
Maybe we should talk and gather some points whats "bugging / exploiting / cheating" and whats not.
Knockback to death, sneaking around for better place to fight, also that 4/4HV thingy... will pass by again and again I think..

gonna check it out, hope that it won't end up as "only 12k+ GS, sorry" or "CN&MC, sorry"

I am going to have to call this initiative a failure for the time being.
The first reason is that the name is far too long to type out for channel switching (unless someone can show me another way to switch channels without using the mouse or typing out the entire name). The second reason is that it is mispelt which makes it not only laborious but difficult to type. The third reason is that the few times I have seen it actually being used, fully one half has involved people looking for, or pointing out they already have, runners and/or things like "lf3m HV CW" (and when others pointed out that HV was an exploit the response was to call people trolls on the grounds that "it's not an exploit, it's just faster").
Hopefully when the shards merge we can try again with a decent userbase. I suggest using a simpler, much easier, name like LLFG or Legit.
In fact, I don't ever want to see this channel being used, but that's just wishful thinking. We shouldn't need a channel like this. In all my years of gaming I've never played a game where exploiting was so rampant. It's disgusting.

I have many alts, I am a class and race rainbow.
I can't change name for now, I'll ask to devs.
GMs seem to have lost the ability to do anything with channels over the years so good luck.
