I know that many of the Sharandar quests use the crescents, but I'm collecting a ton of extra crescents without even trying and I can't seem to find any way to spend/use them. Is there a merchant I'm missing? I did see the Artisan Pack option but that also takes 10k AD, which is a waste if all I can do is salvage the cloak/ring. Is there any way to use these crescents productively after getting boons, unlocks, etc?

Not that they've shown yet. You could use them for gear that's not as good as things you could get out of the dungeons if you wanted and had the extra AD to spare.
You could use them to get one of the three purple prizes... if you don't mind spending your extra zone quest items (the seeds and blades and such) .
Hopefully they'll come out with something soon, but until I'm completely "warrior" trained, they're fairly useless (as I've unlocked everything else so far).
Hmmh a good question. For me they are useless as my chars are geared with full sets. The purples you can buy with them cost more AD than I would salvage them for so... no ty . Got like 400 of them now and nothing to do with em.

Now, what would be rather awesome is if we could trade them in for sparks. The crescents are fairly easy to obtain, but 40 -50 for a spark would be sweet. Problem is that doesn't fit the story line very well. Granted, they could always make a quest or something to get to a black market that peddles sparks for crescents or something XD.

That would be completely pointless unless it was a lower number. In order to get 10 sparks (which is the minimum to be somewhat useful), you'd need to farm A LOT, realistically you might as well wait an extra day or do a few dungeons and buy a relic with the AD from sold/salvaged items.. Crescents atm can buy Ilitanbruen Artisan Packs once you've done your boons, that's about it.

If they took off the dumb AD costs on the artisan pack they could be useful to convert (very slowly and not efficiently) into rough AD.
But as it stands now - they are quite worthless at doing anything other than wasting a currency slot.
And given how slow the spark comes in, you could easily hit the (likely) 999 stack limit and have them waste multiple slots.
Plus cryptic in their infinite wisdom saw fit to flag them as "cannot discard, cannot sell" so they will no matter what serve as a wasted slot that you can never clear.
I actually had to turn in a few bloods to get some for the first boon. Boy was that a waste since past that I always had way more then could ever spend.
All so called "currencies" should have some way to convert to gold or AD. This one completely lacks it so its not really a currency, more of a inventory slot drain.

Wouldn't mind except the fact you're forced to get them for weeks/months to get the final two boons since you're guaranteed to be limited on sparks and not cresent.
Another nice way to make them useful could be if they inverted the costs of the final two boons - instead of being stuck waiting on a ton sparks.. Drop the spark costs dramatically to like 50 each. Then massively up the crescent cost to say 500 each. So technically soon as you got that spark and the blades, you could get them.. But may have to grind out some cresent (which are unlimited thru bounties).. So gives the player a grind method (if they choose) without being 100% hard gated by a time gate. (Yea theres the AH alternative of buying fragments. but currently costs something like a million diamonds to use that route quickly - not very fun.)
Surprised no ones mentioned keys, unless I over looked it. I have near 500 crescents and not a lot to do with them, one boon left to unlock. Only worthwhile thing spending them on is the keys, also costs 5kad and 1g , not too bad with chest loots generally evens out with shards, rare equips and a chance of purples and even seals, not sure if anyone realises this but u can obtain the seals as a 4th drop from these chests

5k AD is worth more than anything in the minidungeon chests imo. I haven't run a minidungeon since I finished my normal terror.
suppose it depends on your server, certain shards and purple salvages balance out, other rarer items are worth a lot more and can cover you for another 10 runs. A seal alone makes it worth it, despite the rarity, but each of these instances are very easy and quick to solo
Nothing. I think you can't even discard them. Buying purple gear isn't profitable, so i guess this zone will be completely useless once we have all the boons.

It's only working at the moment while you have the key to Malabog (3rd key) in your bag - but there are potions for 15 & 5 crescents you can buy at the equipment vendor. Once you open the gate they disappear from the shop. It's in the bug reports and I came across them the other day on alt.
Potion of Heroism - 15 crescents - Increases your Primary and Secondary attributes by 1 for 1 hour. This effect persists through death.
Potion of Fey Healing - 5 crescents - Instantly heals 8,500 Hit Points and grants 850 Temporary Hit Points

Potion of Heroism and Fey Healing as mentioned are 15 and 5 crescents only, from the same merchant that sells that t1 armor set. one of my characters still has the key so i just mail that character all of my formorian concoctions to buy crescents with for potions, though my other 3 characters still have several hundred useless crescents from the daily quests.
The key doesn't disappear when you open the gate, it disappears when you turn in the quest for opening said gate. that NPC is one of the ones that gives out the 3 daily quests for the 3rd area so you have to be careful not to turn it in on accident, but you can have access to the potions and still do dailies in the 3rd area np.

Ah well, that's the first I've heard of these potions. Sounds like that's the only way currently in the game to get rid of them without wasting AD. Too bad I have no characters that haven't already turned the last key in. Guess I just wait around and hope they fix the bug at some point.

Cryptic will be very unlikely to allow them to be traded for sparks. Sparks are the HAMSTER-block by which they control progress.
I wouldn't expect them to allow increase in rate of spark gain until they have other content available that makes Feywild unnecessary as endgame .e.g level cap raised to 65 or 70.

Its worth dreaming about, but your reality is most true.
I'm at a point now where all I'm doing is the 10 spark quest and getting my free key and running Celadine. Oh, and Arcane resevoir... when it rolls around once a week >_>. Other than that, I'm done with Sharandar except maybe starting to look into MC runs IF this dragon bug really is fixed come our patch.
In STO their end game campaign system like this one allows you to trade extra campaign resources for Dilithium, perhaps we should push for that here too?
Eh.... blink dog companion from Celadine's Tower chest is worth a bit more than 5000AD.
not really it is just another "dog" green pet (I have it and well leveled it and returned to augment pet ).
As for the rewards key cost is 5k AD and 1G and some crescents I guess. The best reward you can get is in third zone tower and when salvaged you get 5k RAD for main hand purple and 4k RAD for off hand purple. Shards of enchantments are pretty much worthless since everybody can get them.
this game needs more fluff stuff, a house where you can place furniture for example, guild halls. or even only effect stuff like something that makes your hand or eyes glow when you use it. then at least they could introduce vendors that sell cool stuff for highly overprized prizes and then could use their special currency for this.
heck, even today they could just introduce a mount or a cool companion, dyes or costumes, titles that would cost a bazillion crescents just to show that you can really earn stuff by playing the game only and not just by turning in ingame currency (AD) into paid currency (ZEN). why not give people a chance that want to do sharandar every day for months to be able to spend it on cool items. or at least bring some cheaper stuff like 1000 crescents to buy 1 bottle of a very cool unique dye or 2000 to get some title.

Seals vendors should get unique items like that as well. There should also be stuff on the lower end that makes the stuff worth doing even after you have earned the high end rewards.
