Anyone have any tips on gearing up?

I started doing DD on my rogue a few weeks ago. I haven't gotten far, mostly having done Pirate King runs.

My GS is 9.8k right now so I figure it's about time to start focusing on other T2s once I hit 10k.

To the questions...

1) Should I go for Master Assassin or Swashbuckler? I prefer PvE. I heard Swashbucker, so just clarifying.
2) What rings/neck/belt should I be going for?
3) Does having a purple shirt/pants increase item level at all?

As for stat priority I have been focusing on Power > Crit > Recovery > Armor Pen. Not sure if that's right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The following is just a rough (guideline?) and does not reflect the *greatest* equipment but a good start at least.

    1) Swashbucker - it's bonuses are the greatest and can be up at all times during combat.
2-rings) Pyrotechnic Band is a popular one giving +125 Power / +125 Armor Pen. / +175 Critical Strike
2-neck) Grand Excorcist's Necklace of Blessing is a fair one giving +150 to Power, Critical, and Armor Pen
2-belt) Piercing Berserker's Belt I personally like as it (at it's highest level) gives +133 Critical / +243 Armor Pen w/ Offensive slot (no epic belt has offensive slot).
    3) Item Level? Do you mean Gear Score? Gemmed Exquisite Pants/Shirt gives +281 GS/ea (77 Power, 92 Crit, 77 Armor Pen, 35 Def) as well as provides an enchantment slot (offensive for shirt, defense for pants).

As for stats, reaching above 3500 will result in much less performance, ie; 3800 Power / 1200 Armor Pen can be less stronger than 3500 Power 1500 Armor Pen.

I think your style would more or less determine what exactly your priority would be. For me, I feel Armor Pen -> Critical -> Power -> Recovery. Do *NOT* underestimate Armor Pen.

Also, if you have more than 9200 GS, I wouldn't look too much at total GS as much as I would individual stats.

Savage Enchantments gives both Critical Strike and Armor Penetration and provide more GS than any other enchantment at same rank (though now they are a bit expensive).
