Profession Packs Worse Than Ever

At the beginning of the game there seemed to be a much greater likelihood of getting good equipment. Now you're lucky to get an uncommon worker and an arcane shard. I am getting fed up with this. I am sure they made them worse in an effort to get us buy more packs.
I know, somewhere out there will be some troll who got a blue shears (I did too about a dozen packs ago) or maybe even a rare piece. But I think they screwed with the percentage payout, sort of like a casino HAMSTER with a slot machine payout. I will take a long time for us to figure it out and in the meantime they pocket the profits.

Another reason why I'm purely F2P.

I was curious, so the first item I ever purchased with Zen was a Profession Asset pack.

    Never again!

We have no way of knowing what the odds are of getting the better items! When they say "1 Epic or 1 Rare Asset" what are the percentages to get each item? We don't know. For all we know, the percentages aren't even fixed values! They could change based on your purchasing habits through some complex algorithm that PWE has perfected over the years. It's a mystery how it all works and therefore is most definitely an unwise investment.

If you're going to buy Zen Market items, stick to the the guaranteed items where you know what you're buying up front. With the way they manage things they'll probably find a way to make you feel bad about those purchase as well but at least you'll know up front what you're buying!

The problem with packs now is that there are 2 new professions. Artificing and Weaponsmithing. You get these valueless assets instead of the ones you want, most common now being Tailoring.

I have burned 15k zen on packs and probably got about 1.5M in AD worth of assets... you do the maths. PWE must be having a laugh at my expense.

Also I read "Asset" to be "Tools". But I'm always getting works...... *sigh*.

I have purchased a few of these and agree it seems like there were better drops at the beginning of the game..

Pretty shoddy if true, but it's purely speculation. It could be like profession nodes where you may do fine some times and then you'll occasionally get a bad streak of broken kits. However they do seem expensive when you don't even know what you're getting.
Edit: I should clarify that by that last sentence I mean the odds of getting a green/blue/purple. For that price I think a purple should be guaranteed but w/e.

Agreed. I don't claim this is the case but I haven't seen any leadership NPCs since launch..and very few tools. I seem to get a lot of platesmithing assets..

Looks like they decreased chances on everything - profession packs (keep getting green stuff), coalscent wards from 7 celestial coins pack (haven't got any on 10 characters since feywild update), set pieces from dd chest (keep getting belts and necks) etc.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz

I'm pretty sure they did the same with blue wards from the 7-day invoke box. It's just so pathetic...

    Welcome to PWE?
Seriously, that gambling system has been in PWE longer than many of the games it currently runs.
