I've taken part in the summer festival contests lots of times but I only noticed this after the patch that doubled the flower petal rewards.
In the final results table that appears when the contest is over, while the ranking and the rewards were right, it was incorrectly saying I'm in the Gold tier when it should be saying Bronze. This happened on at least another player in my group but I didn't stay to reproduce it. The big badge shown in the dialog was wrong too (gold).
