As I approach the level 60 mark at the end of next week, I find myself wondering what the best set for pvping is. Is there only one pvp set that you can purchase off of the vendor, or is it better to pvp in a T1 or T2 set? Any feedback would be appreciated so I can figure out what my next move is come 60 thanks !!!!
I bought a bag ...that's it. I don't have to pay to enjoy it lol then again I have 9 alts pumping out crafting helpers for generating additional AD's also.
Still doing fine in PvP with my swash set. Planning to get two more skulker pieces to complete the set, I was kind of regret that I did not bought them before feywild, could have made my life easier hehe.
I am only guessing since you are asking about a PVP set, that you are already doing a lot of PVP at lower levels. If so you should have enough to get the T1 PVP set with glory by the time or even before you hit 60. Once you have that, you're in a great place to start, but will definitely want to farm grym coins to move the T2 PVP.
Of course if you have a group or guild that you can farm SW with, that works too. I prefer Skulkers myself though.

P2W games will always fail after the major crowd opened it's eyes or is milked dry.
Seconded. Don't enter PvP queue without it!
Yeah, it really stinks that you actually have to play the game to earn better stuff in the game.
And 1/3 of Gauntlygyrm is PvP. Kind of an annoying brand of PvP granted, but's it's not all PvE.

I think the set you use depends strictly on how you play.
I am a 1v1 rogue so I rely less on Power and focus more on ArP and Defense/Deflection with a hint of regen.... the crit just comes naturally.
