Best armor enchant for tanky GF

Hi guys,

My GF is focused on tanking and I cannot decide which armor enchant to use. Apart from the obvious soulforge what else could be efficient to enhance tanking?

I have considered briartwine, in that case is the damage reflected also not received by the GF? If yes that would mean 2% less damage taken for the lesser version.

Barkshield and negation are two other possible options.

What would u recommend from your experience?

    Negation, easily.

Briartwine is good for threat especially when kiting under Knight's Valor and Supremacy of Steel.

Never tried Barkshield, but I highly doubt it compares to either Soulforged or Negation for GF tanking.

Even the perfect negation though, would account for about 2,5% average less damage taken. If the reflect of briartwine means also that the reflected damage is not received by the GF, that would make the second rank of briartwine superior to perfect negation.

Could someone confirm if briartwine works as described above?

Armor enchants have very little effect.

Normal Soul Forge is all you need for those oh-**** moments when you get hit for 75% of your HP in 1 hit. Otherwise Negation is good if you rush into large packs before CW's Sings.

Thunderhead > Briatwine for DMG enchants.

They both do about the same dmg over a run but Thunderhead's AoE Stun is nice.

I agree with this. I roll with Perfect Negation. I hit Into the Fray, jump in with a Lunging Strike, run around and gather up all the mobs around me and blast off a Frontline Surge before the CW sings. Then it's Cleave Cleave Hit them with a Villain's Menace when they're on their way down. Couple more Cleaves and Lunging Strike for the tough one in the bunch and it's on to the next group. Then again, I'm not exactly a pure tank build though lol.

I would recommend the Soulforged for now as it will probably not be often that a pure tank will be below 25%, but when you are, you will be glad for it. I am currently testing Barksheild right now and it seems quite promising.

Think of Barksheild as another HoT (Heal over time) and it's a great enchant. Every 8 seconds gives free HP. :P

Last time I checked Frontline Surge has a target limit of 5.... what happen to the rest of the mob then?

    Enforced Threat is 5.
    Front Line is 3.

Soulforged (normal or even lesser is enough for pve) is the most forgiving one, allows you to fix "auch" moments and throw the fighters recovery/pot to set yourself back, negation needs at least greater to be effective, barkshield i didnt test it, but i heard it totally negates hits, instead of mitigating them if its that way (bugged or not) would be sick on PvP, i never tried the damage ones... but only thunderhead seems useful.

Frontline is mainly used in that situation to gain AP. The mob is being grabbed up by Sing. If you aren`t understanding the process I describe in detail above, perhaps you can roll with me sometime.
