Yeah, that would be something. Perhaps instead, the first thing that happens is they get separated? Drop a floor out, or set some walls up so that persons in different positions are forced down a different pathway. This could be on component reached to add to a surprise factor, or maybe on an interact... could have some variability to it, based on where players stand, but that might add some fun.
