Why are the PVP maps so limited?

Why not make some more?

10v10 would be a good start. If you are struggling for ideas, then maybe look at other games such as wow for insperation. Hell, you could even let the foundry authors create some.

It is my opinion that your lack of depth with PVP was a major over-site and will cost you many players. A shame because the actual combat is really very good.

While your at it some more gear for lower level PVP players would be nice as well, something to spend the points on. That way we don't have to go and farm dungeons and what not just so we can PVP.

Yes. It must be very technical to choose detailed plain map 1, add an open building at each end and a flag in each building, add a few more details and set the task to first team to hold both flags 3 times wins.

Because if they gave you more maps, that would give you something to do aside from making more characters and possibly spending money on those characters once they hit 60.

That would make sense, much better to have people go and play FFIV instead.

Or they could have more players because the PVP crowd in MMO's is actually much bigger than expected. (Ask Blizzard and Lucas Arts, who were both astonished by the numbers) Which in turn would have more people buying stuff.

I would even go so far as to say PVP players in general will spend more. But whatever.

It's a shame because there's so much potential for good PVP content. Heck, just allow Foundry makers to create some! Endless possibilities.

I have some good ideas myself.

I like the idea of having a gauntlet where each team lines up next to each other 1 member of each runs it then runs back and tags the next player first 5 through it wins. A bit school yard but would be funny. Also plenty of time for some friendly banter.

PvP has been discusses and the DEV's had stated there are no plans for PvP maps till after MOD 2. Which will be a yr or more.

Agreed. When I first started playing I was 100% PvE, I didn't even do the PvP dailies. Now that I have done all the dungeons and have a 60 of each class I have really been enjoying PvP. I do all pvp dailies every day on every character. Before I started PvP'ing I never spent a dime as I never felt the need to. However now that I'm in a PvP guild and getting to do competitive PvP every day, I have spent $50 twice now.

Lol PvP drives people to spend FAR more than PvE does. A lot of the folks in our guild put some money in, as you simply can't get good PvP gear without either ~8 hours a day (I have a job...) or some cash here and there.

LOL you are like my twin. You did exactly what I did. Except I only leveled GF and GWF to 60. I had a 44 DC and 10 TR, deleted both for the GWF toon. I PVP ONLY, and it was my MAIN reason for spending real money on the game. With a game so heavily focused on an incredible combat system, the PVP is lacking the most. They are lucky it is so D A M N fun even with 2 maps, or they would have lost even more of their playerbase.
Being guildless I haven't even done GG, but I hear I'm not missing out on much. PLEASE devs give us CTF on new maps!! Even with speed mounts as they are I would love to see how true offense/defense would work with the classes working together.

Some good CTF implementation. I think would be awesome. Would remind me of 2fort5 in Teamfortress for quakeworld (all time fav game). How balance would work per class I have no idea. But would be awesome still.

and of course with CTF maps, they would just entice people to spend more money. Anyone without a 110% mount would never cap a flag, so people would almost feel obligated to buy a mount...or not play CTF...one of the two.

I don't think you would be able to mount or use your shift (except GF's maybe) while holding the flag. At least that's how other games have done it.
