new guild features?

edited October 2013 in General Discussion (PC)
I know this was probably brought up already but I do not feel like searching thousands of posts.

What will be the new guild features added to the game? When you speak to the Guild Manager Npc, it says "new guild features will be added in the future". Something along those lines.

What I do think should be added to Guild Features are:

1. Guild Bases (similar to Forsaken World but not a ripoff).
a ) somewhere for players to meet up, train, and buy profession items from NPCS
b ) Guild banks and banker in the guild base
c ) build up and maintain the guild base (via items on zen store, looted, tradeable among players via astrals, gold, etc)
d ) guild daily quests which reward either exp, or astral diamons, or both

2. A way for members of the guild to Contribute or Donate Astral Diamonds (maybe via the guild bank box) so that the leader(s) can use to purchase guild repositories as well as for use in future guild feature updates that might require updating castle features.

3. Other things for Guild to do such as: ADD raid bosses.

also would love to hear other suggestions but DEFINITELY would like to hear OFFICIAL words from any person (mod or dev) who has any insight as to what new plans are already in the works for next/future guild updates.

Thank you.

Allow resources to be deposited in guild banks so that members could store excess unneeded resources and share with the rest of the guild.

    Bump!

I think this needs more attention, this is an amazing idea. I love the idea of a customizable and buildable space. Something that can be upgraded with the guild as it grows. It gives a whole new dimension to gameplay as well as something to work toward as a guild. It can also be used as a huge bragging right.

Come on people. You can jump on the forums and fill a HAMSTER thread with 100+ comments but you can't do anything constructive. I know there are people out there with ideas beyond b!tching and crying quitsies. How about some support for what could be a good strong thread =_=

If nothing else, this would make everyones life easier. Excluding those that are super rich and already bought all these tabs.

I totally agree, I think there should be a reward system, however, for the players that donote. Maybe a ranking system as well. I would feel better about putting my AD in a guild bank knowing I would get something cool outta the deal. I have personally opened up 2 repositories in my guild, just cuz. If I got a percentage of that back, or even some kind of purchase token or some such, that would make it all the sweeter!

guild houses would be awesome, designed just like the foundry maps, you could make a mansion, a castle, a cave, etc...
also xabersedge: construc...tive...? that cursed forbidden word has NO place in a MMO forum ;)

Guild house/mansion/castle is a good idea. It would give a place for guild members to meet and work out what they are going to do without having to do so out in the public squares.

Y'know what would be interesting - what if the queue could be updated so that if it saw more than 1 member of the same guild in the queue for a given instance, it'd try to place them in the same team?

    You forgot

1.) Something for guilds to do as guilds.

This game has no raids, no ranked PvP, no Guild vs. Guild, nothing.

True. Guild vs Guild would be awesome if not a little out of context for the Neverwinter story. Perhaps instead something like a competitive event that builds ranking. Also a reward system for being top ranked guild. Maybe tops will get a set AD income. After all, top guild would get all the 'business' right. Maybe some stat boosts to members or some such within the top Guild.

They implemented pretty much this in STO, via the fleet Starbase system... Be careful what you wish for
    A world to defend
    A city to protect
    innocents to save
"Why?" They ask "they hate you"
We're heroes it's what we do.

What Ranncore said. Had this discussion in the guild im in. We were trying to encourage all the members to sign up on the guild forums (which was rather successful, but a few had reservations about it). I didn't really mind either way. Every other game guild/clan it was mandatory as well. But I brought up why some may feel it unnecessary, and well Ranncore hit it on the head.

well they might be adding such new features in the future (raids, ranked pvp, guild vs guild, etc.

This is the point of this post. To HOPEFULLY (and so far nothing) get some kind of replies or feedback frmo a dev or mod who knows any kind of info on what guild features will be added soon, or later.

There's lots of things that could be added, for guilds and in general.
for guilds I would like guildhouses, guild specific maps, some kind of ranking maybe. and I would personally love GvG battles. but massive pvp is something very tricky and has to be balanced correctly.

And perhaps a Guild Stables for all the mounts ... because there sure are a lot of them, aren't there?!!

First and foremost thing that should be added or rarther changed is the guild gold deposit, that should be a AD deposit so guild members can all contribute to opening up more guild bank tabs, The gold deposit is a total waste of time or they could change the new tab cost for a cost of gold.

The way it is set up at present is 1 guild member has to solely fund new bank tabs, it is totaly stupid, the whole concept of guild is to bring people togeter and working together

Yeah this is 100% true. the ONLY thing that we can do to get AD now is to have members deposit gold, then use that gold to buy Planar Idols, and use those to get AD. A lot of work and it would be easier if members could donate gold and/or ADs.

There is an excellent topic here about other features needed.
I would like to see guild capes.
At some point when I entered the preview server it said something like "Not in a guild, no guild cape available" so I assumed it would come in the next update, but it didn't.

I feel that utilizing Foundry for Guild content would be a great route to take. Tweaked to work properly with nifty guild content. I mean, you could not only have a guild hall but an entire land built to your liking. Hell, ranked members could have their own house. If you want raids, simply add them. Actually, if cryptic were to add raid grouping the basic idea of this could be created right now. Silly Cryptic.

One thing I do know. If an idea or ideas do not shout "This is cost effective!" in your head

    they ain't happenin, son. =P

Here's a thought, don't know if it's a good one or not. Let's say you are high ranked, and open your own business. What if said business is run by your profession assets. You open a weaponsmithing shop which uses the assets you assign. When someone uses your shop, it grants you slight profession experience and has a tipping system like the foundry. I have a great weapons smith but im not so much on the mailsmith, I would go to a shop to see what they could craft. You would of course still be required to use your own resources, merely borrowing the shops asset.

this would also drive players to try to get better assets, so they could make income. this means buying profession packs from the zen store. boom, theres your money maker PWE.

If you want houses and such try out Wildstar mmo they have houses. You even get a yard or area around your house to add stuff to also. Looks cool

Thanks for that tidbit of useless information about a game that hasn't dropped yet. . .moving on. . .

As far as housing and castles, you can take that a step further. How about land grabs through guild competitions. What if said land can be traded and bartered like any other commodity in the game. Farther still, professions that help, landscaping, architecture, furniture craft, these are professions that can be done by the guild as a single entity. Guilds can even sell out there work and professionals like contractors. It might be getting a little homestead for a game that is all about dungeon delving, but I think the prospect would be pretty amazing.

What I imagined, first stepping into PE. Those roads lined with houses, guild houses or crafter/vendor shops. Was sad when could not go into houses.

I think a nice first step is allowing to create guild houses. with the foundry. I don't think it's hard at all and would make guild instantly much more fun.
