The issue is the game needs to be merged to single shards.
Server mergers mean the game is dead or dieing. They wont do this without some excuse other then lower populations just watch they will make some excuse other then populations dropping.

This game is not dying, no senor, no no, hmmm, don't pay attention to the mortician and the buzzards.
The game is not dying it is settling down to normal #'s. This is how all new MMOs are as posted previously.
The issue is World of Warcraft created 10's of millions of MMORPG gamers that now crave a new MMO. So when new MMOs hit open beta or release it's flooded with the FOTM MMO followers. Then after several months the player base settles down to the gamers that enjoy the game.
This is why games like SWTOR failed because they spent way to much money on an MMO and did not understand how the market works. It's like the FPS industry with Call of Duty and the rest of the FPS FOTM shooters. They just have to reskin, throw a few new bells and whiles and repack the game and make bank. The MMO industry is pretty much the same with impulse buyers searching for a new MMO but can't find the right one for them.

Yes, their planning is amazing and far seeing. They totally ran all their other games as single shards all for this one moment. So when they merge they have a likely excuse handy, of standard Cryptic policy. Like anyone will believe that.
Good thing we have such clever posters who can see through that smoke screen 5 years in the making. Congrats sir, you have undone them and their schemes.
