Druid isn't a Leader (healing) class in 4e. It was barely a healing class in every edition prior (with the grand majority of it's spell-base being devoted to damage, control, or utility - in every single edition it got the basic Healing spells Clerics did one spell-level later, which equates to 2-3 levels later for the exact same effect), so that's not a huge loss.
If you want options in the Leader category, you may want to ask for something like the Warlord or Bard instead.
EDIT: Also, I don't see the point in delaying finishing something that may be already close to a 'finished' state in favor of adding in another class that will take just as long to develop. If Ranger is the next class up, get it done and over with then move on. Better plan.
I doubt any class they put out is going to fair that much better then what is available anyway.

Druids are controllers in 4th edition, not healers.
If you want a healer, ask for a bard or a warlord. But at this point, the next class is locked in place since they are probably pretty far along on it and won't be change to a completely different class.

Has the 4e anything to do with what are we playing here in neverwinter, besides lore and classes names? Do control wizards with singularity or rogues with Bait and switch even exist in 4e? Serious question, since I've not played such edition.

Short answer? Yes.
Long answer? Inspired by does not mean strict adherence, but 90% of the things that are in the game mechanics-wise are heavily inspired 4th edition, and in particular how abilities are named and what they do (though Bait and Switch is actually an Encounter Utility power, which is exactly how it's used in-game, just not generally in place of an Attack power).

Summary: It matters more then you think it does.
