Problem With Game System Messages

There is a problem with the games system messages. Tonight we were about to kill the last boss in Epic Spider Queen when the server went down for maintenance. No one in our guild saw any system messages about the server maintenance tonight. We did see many system messages about people getting mounts out of the lock boxes though. Please look into your system to notify players in game of last minute maintenance as it currently isn't working as intended. I would rather know about game maintenance than people getting mounts.
