Future patch for Sun Elves?

As in Sun Elves come out later this week or in a month or two?

This random delay on Sun Elf kinda caught me by surprise. My friend wants me to make a Moon Elf Ranger with her in the future so I said id make my new GF a Sun Elf.

    If by random delay you mean calculated business decision in order to gouge the maximum number of moon elf sales then yes, very random. Obviously the two races were so similar they've elected to disable Sun elves and give us drow until the pack sales decline.

    Cryptic are getting pretty good at these last minute switcharoos.

    That doesn't say enjoy the Drow in the Feywild.

    That would make sense if Moon Elves where going to be the only normal looking elf race.

    Also if my memory serves me lorewise aren't moon elves more common than sun elves?

    Moon Elves are a more friendly race to none elves. More simple. They may even have cats/dogs. They are more prone to being adventurers. Sun Elves are more social towards the other elves. Don't really keep pets. And Sun Elves usually focus on either being a Fighter or a Wizard and in some cases a Bard.

    Cryptic Studios and Perfect World have announced that they will expand the PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game Neverwinter on August 22 with new content.

    The new adventure module, called Fury of the Feywild, will be released for free. The module includes a new zone called Sharandar, a new companion upgrade system, and a drag-and-drop update for the foundry tool. The expansion also introduces two new races, the moon elves and sun elves, and two new professions that focus on weapons and gear-crafting.

    But now the Sun Elves will be released at a later date...

    oh come on the dance studio thing in World of Warcraft wasn't going to come out, hell it gets brought up all the time and beat back down in that hole from where it came.

    I am curious about the delay on sun elves as well. granted, I'm not planning on rolling one, but the topic was already something strange to me in the first place.

    Honestly, I just don't understand (lorewise) how/why they are limiting the most common (nonforesty) elf in the game world (moon elves) to just the relatively few people who bought a $60 pack, but making one of the most reclusive elves who actively dislike and avoid pretty much every other race in the world (sun elves) into the one that everybody can commonly roll. Historically, sun elves mostly just sequester themselves on an island away from everybody else and work on their tans while thinking they're above everyone.


    imo, they should have switched moon and sun elves around.

    It was a "known issue" since when the feywild pack was on the pts since the sun elf was not anywhere to be found there: I could think that when the patch went live they should have fixed it don't they? at least they could have warned us beforehand : "Look contrary at what we have previously announced the sun elf will not be available when the feywild patch will come live"

    People need to stop being such crybabies. That is all I see on the forums. It is no wonder most of the players don't even come here. Sun Elves will be out when they are out. It is not false advertising.

    Awesome! I was like why are you advertising the Sun Elf Nobles gear when they arent in the game. Thank you for the response.

    yea in 60 days much like what u guys did with vanilla drow inorder to maximize pack sales why should i believe this

    You are trying way too hard, forums are put in place so players can voice their opinion on the game they are playing. If you do not like or enjoy the posts made by these players the best course of action would be to Not view those threads in which you clearly can tell by the title is going to have someone complaining in it. It's this way on any forums you read, for any MMO game or online game period. It's like asking players to only voice positive feedback, even when things are obviously not so positive.

    Well...that's kind of disappointing.

    I was coming back specifically to roll up a Sun Elf to check stuff out with...but nope, they somehow screwed up what should probably be one of the simplest aspects of the game.

    How about no. The forum is flooded with crying topics that serve no purpose but to cause issues here. Day in and day out that is all that gets posted. People start new topics on the same thing instead of keeping it to one topic.

    Don't listen to them. You go everywhere on the forum and tell everyone to stop being crybabies all you want to. Eventually all that complaining about all the complaining will work.

    What was the reasoning behind making the most aloof and elitist Elf race available to all and making the most common Elf race a $60 pack exclusive?

    This isn't 3rd edition lore. In 4th edition, the most common elf race is the Wood Elf. Moon Elves are now a part of a race called Eladrin, which is an elf with feyblood. They're basically the Aasimar of elves.
