simple.. what would be best clase for solo farming

i was thinking about DC or CW... but still most considering DC tanky build (cuz of self healing of course)... does DC have many AOE skills... any other class maybe?

btw about solo farming i dont mean dungeons "only", (cuz considering it impossible to do)... but outside as well...

any advice would be mostly appriciate... or even link to some tanky AOE build link would be nice

ty in advance :)

If you want tanky and AoE you can go GF.

Might not be the fastest for farming, but you can facestomp pretty much all solo content with minimal effort, including all non-epic t1 dungeons solo.

I wouldnt really consider dc at all for farming, even with self heals the dps is just too low (and amping it wouldnt be cost effective for a farmer toon) but cw i would wholly go for. Between my cw and dc, i found the cw was a breeze soloing content and with all the aoes and cc at their disposal its a competent farming character with little potion use at all compared to dc. I wouldnt recommend GF for the fact of dps speed personally but i have yet to level one fully to 60 yet.

Ive played all classed to 60 except for GWF. So I cant comment on them.

CW is good, fast easy and a good all around choice with really only one hang up. There is a fair percentage of high level stuff that is CC immune. When you hit those CW gets a bit more difficult. CW is great for clearing trash, so-so great against boss mobs. the bigger they are the harder they get.

DC not a good farmer at all.

TR can do well, fast, high damage, VERY easy to level. Probably one of the fastest leveling classes out there. They do really well against boss and tough mobs. But can get swarmed and mobbed. Not as good at clearing large masses of trash. In many ways they are the inverse of the CW.

GF is slow, very slow to level. And early on does pitifully low damage. However, they get better. By the time you get into your 50s, they can be a wrecking machine. They facetank bosses like a champ and can wade into a horde of mobs without worry. And they pack a substantial number of AoE and CC attacks that allow them to take charge in a fight. CWs get to play with knockbacks. GF are kings of it. A GF might not be able to get as many in a single hit as a CW, but GF hits them further and puts them on the ground longer.

Case in point. I recently finished Whispering Caverns with my GF and completed the Ilithid Enclave solo dungeon. I had done this on my previous classes with out to much hassle, even as a DC, so I was familiar with the fight. And knew that when the Thoon hulks spawn, things can get hectic, at the very least. My GF on the other hand, finished it much differently from the others....

[21:15] [Combat (Self)] Your Bull Charge deals 2850 (2921) Physical to Revered Thlorrog.
[21:15] [Combat (Self)] Your Health Stealgives 67 Hit Points to you.
[21:15] [Combat (Self)] Your Shielded Resurgence gives 230 Hit Points to you.
[21:15] [Combat (Self)] Your Massive Damage deals 90144 Hit Points to Revered Thlorrog.

Yup, one Bull charge, and I one shotted the guy right off the map. I wish I had screen shotted it. Best squiddy field goal ever!

CW. Good aoe, great damage, a lot of dodge, and since the best skills do crowd control and damage at the same time, it's just even more defensive. You can stun mobs and kill them.

DC is great for group content, if that's what you like. Quite terrible for solo play with a low GS (great above 11k, better than a 11k CW, although you need a lot of exp of the class but few people have it), but if you're a good DC groups will love you and your friendlist will grow almost every day you play. :)

I like TR for solo play, GFs don't do much damage so they feel slow CW get hard to solo with at high levels when bosses get immune to control. I load my solo rogue up with path of blades/blitz and a damge power like sealth strile or the big dagger power and impossible to catch(for bosses). I was able to solo mt hotenow with no issues, path of blades gets rid of trash and my single target powers handle everything else, Impossible to catch helps me avoid some red circle damage.

That's how I took him out on my GF also, booted him off the edge. While I admit that is a heck of a lot of fun and one reason why I actually LIKE Dread Vault, it does mean that you don't get loot from the enemies you punt off the ledges. Just something for new folks to be aware of. At lower levels you might want those blues and greens.

I've levelled all classes apart from the TR to 60. In the process of levelling another cleric. Can farm with anything but CW is probably a safe choice. Particularly if you do many foundry cheese missions with pantsloads of trapped elites to kill. Tried that for the box event and I value my sanity enough that I'll never do that again, but mmv. Whispering caverns & the illithid area are enough for me if i want to grab a few rank 4 enchants. I don't do quest instance repeat cheese.

companion - recommend cleric if you're going a cheapy companion. even for clerics. DPS on the others is a joke, cc is used too infrequently. cleric heal is always welcome. I've read the tank comp can actually tank a bit - but have not used.

GF - conq build - was ok but do not recommend for farming. Of course I was using some bogus pvp uber build, just without the tenebrous enchants that actually make it work (didn't understand the deal with those at the time) - so with a better build could be a nice medium pace farm grinder.

DC - regular high wis/str healbot build. Horrible for farming - far too squishy for a character with a self-healing debuff which meant most of my encounter skills were just used to keep me alive. Much loved in dungeons by party members. I reiterate not a farm toon.

GWF - almost gave up after the horror of a destroyer build and the horrible horrible squishyness involved. Respecced to a sentinel with hp + regen (again without tenebrous). Awesome fun. But takes a fair time to kill stuff - relies too much on sprint cancelling to optimise damage. Limit of 5 target hits on most skills. Will be fairly nerfed into the ground with big patch coming. Not recommended for farming unless you like it a bit slow, safe, but hectic at the same time (and subject to hemorragic nerf fever).

CW - damage build with lots of ice (chilling cloud / coi / icy terrain / stop time / shield ). Easily the fastest mob destroyer. Sometimes needs to pot when things don't go your way due to the in your face nature of much of the cc & damage encounters used (do you want some lag with that mindflayer tentacle?) Recommend for farming. Could make a safer build without sacrificing much speed.

DC (again) - high con/dex weirdo build. Wears anything with regen, deflect, hp or def it picks up (in roughly that order). Slots no healing abilities apart from sunburst. Is the most fun I've had with my pants on in both pvp & pve. Farms nicely, slower than the cw but death or pots are never an option. It's honestly like i'm playing a completely different class compared to my first cleric. Proviso is - only level 35 or so at the moment. Come higher levels I expect the joy to wane a bit - particularly in pvp where it will start getting stomped again.
