Can someone explain weapon priorities

So the game recommends me blue Orb of Energies weapon over my green Caster's Orb of Youth
Orb of energies stats:
The weapon is blue and has icon +2 on it(what does this +2 mean?)
183-223 damage
388 power
167 recovery

Caster's orb of Youth stats:
194-238
612 power
40 recovery
93 regen

Based on this green weapon seems like better option. I don't know what +2 means on icon though. Can someone elxplain me why game recommends weapon with obviously lower stats???

"+x" - is a grade of equipment in DnD. The more "x" is, the better item budget item has.
While levelind, get focus on weapons with higher weapon DPS. If it equal, take weapon with more crit, power or recovery.

thanks for the explanation. I also see sometime +3AC on gear. what does this mean?

It's Armor Class. It gives you some damage resistance. Robes has the lowest AC, while plate armor has the highest (not to mention, that shield also gives AC). That's why wizards are so squishy without their own magic shield.
