One thing I noticed the other day while playing is that, I am a fairly casual MMO player, I only grind if A) I feel like it or
I want to train my companion up. But one thing that is apparent as I scroll through the forums here and listen to others in game etc. is that I don't understand some people's intent for playing the game/s? My understanding is that the "elite" players start the game, smash the content out like they are in lemon pulping contest, get to 60, acquire good gear, form a guild/join one, run T2-T1 Dungeons with that guild to get better gear. Eventually they get to the point where they have the best gear they can, and then complain that there isn't enough content in this game. It might just be because I don't play that way (And i'll be clear, i'm not criticising), but it just seems like these people are burning themselves out of content, and just don't realise it. To quote a famous and well known maxim: "It is not the destination, but the journey". This type of person forgets the yare on a journey, and many 60's I know regard the whole story and campaign as "Filler". What is so appealing that running the same few dungeons over and over again, makes you blinded by the other content. Maybe I just don't understand it, and if so, could someone please explain it to me. My way of playing is a bit more casual. In the end, I think this comes down to the timeless "Casual or Hardcore" debate. I like playing with my companion, levelling them up (Which is why I am so physched for companion training) and just having a journey. I actually started another profile when my biggest one got LvL 52, because I was afraid I would lose interest in the game. Anyway, something for you guys to think about/slander me about
I look forward to your replies.
P.S. As you may have noticed, I have an over-fondness for /'s

The "It is not the destination, but the journey" has been said about many games before. But usually after the fact when something was "nerfed" into being easier. I've heard it in response to both EQ2 and WoW for example. In the past when they made a reduction to the experience required to level and some complained.
This game started out really easy to level. A couple days of playing all day can get you to max level. Heck, I've got alts that I just use for Leadership and Invoking that are up to 45. To me it seems like they designed this game's "journey" to start at max level. I've yet to do all the endgame stuff we have now. And they are adding even more later this month.
I'm not saying the "journey" to 60 isn't fun. It is. But for me hitting max level was never the destination. The "journey" goes on.
