Lack of Continuously Running PvE

Am I the only one that laments the lack of continuously running PvE events in this game? Star Trek Online used to have at least three of these and I would play them almost exclusively. There was rarely any waiting (just a 10 minute reset after the objectives were completed) and you could join any time and easily catch up with one or more of the loose knit groups that would be making their way through the objectives. They were a lot of fun. This game has nothing like that. Gauntelgrym sort of comes close but it isn't the same, the objectives don't really require and encourage informal group play, and it runs only every 6 or 8 hours or whatever - it misses the large PvE boat.

I am probably going to stop playing this game very soon. The queues are insanely long and if just one guy leaves the party of 5 you are most-often screwed. I am so bored.

I must be the only one that sees the lack of continuously running PvE, and this focus on strict 5-person play, as a huge flaw. They missed the boat on this one.

And where is the feedback form to help the devs understand the flaws in the game? I can't find one. They don't seem to seek feedback.

Well I don't know about that. My guild was one of the first two guilds in the game. It had 300+ members at one point. But it recently went dormant due to inactivity. Everyone has left the game. As near as I can figure the average play period is about 6 to 8 weeks and then they go. I am in that 6 to 8 week period now. You won't even know when I am gone. Your forum join date is July 2013. You will probably be bored too by the end of this month and gone by the end of September.

I didn't mean to emphasize any sort of threat to leave in my comment anyway. I am just saying that I do not understand the lack of continuous running PvE and the insane queues for strict 5-person dungeons already done 10 times. It is a mystery to me.

IIRC, Fury of the Feywild will have repeatable, soloable dungeons and other PvE content.

If I was you I would at least wait till module 1 has been released , with that hopefully we will see many fixes to current issues plus a whole bunch of new content , then hopefully Cryptic will get the ball rolling with new content on a regular basis.

Fairly regular in game events similar to the one they had recently wouldn't hurt in keeping people interested too plus maybe they could add some kind of world boss events where a huge gigantic boss spawns on a particular map and everybody runs to take it down and the top damage dealers / healers would be mailed some type of reward , yeah it would probably end up being a zerg fest but it would still be something different to do.

    <--- Points at join date.

I got you beat by a year. Im not bored yet. Me thinks your theory might be a bit wrong. The first problem being judging people by something as arbitrary as join date.

Well, everyone is different. It doesn't mean I am wrong, right? I am speaking in general. Let me guess, you play a lot of PvP? You must because there is nothing else to do.

I hate PvP. A lot of people do.

The shuttering of one of the largest and first guilds in the game is a strong data point that my thoughts are not complete outliers. And I am not judging people - don't be so sensitive about me wanting to give feedback and lamenting the lack of the kind of content here that kept me coming back to STO night after night.

All I am saying is that I think the lack of large scale PvE content which promotes informal group play and resets on completion is a big miss in my opinion. I loved it on STO. And the focus on strict 5 player PvP and PvE dungeons with huge queues is a mistake in my opinion.

As you said, everyone is different. But you keep trying to judge people by the same standards.

I dont PVP, least not here. Cryptic has never been good about supporting PVP so, it seems rather silly to invest more into a thing then the developers do.

As far as the STO comparisons. Ive played it, long before it even went F2P. I honestly dont see the complaints. NW for the most part is like any other Cryptic game. There are parts of all of its games in it. The dungeon delves are simply just reskinned STF missions. Skirmishes are Alerts. The only thing really missing are the Fleet actions and of the three those have always been the most boring. Starbase 24 under attack...again?! let it die already.

Honestly, I feel Cryptic agrees with this. Im fairly sure there hasnt been a new Fleet action added ever, from launch day to LoR. Granted, ive not played in some time, so I could be out of date.

The problem I see with NW is some of the new twists on the old ideas arnt working. The one hour dungeon delves is a poor idea. It makes trying to queue during any other time a near waste. And doing it during the delves unfun due to the whole rushed nature of it. It encourages the worst in game play. Skirmishes have their own issues, instead of being something that can be hopped into at anytime like in CO. They are stripped down to small windows that can only be played if you are the right level. 11 potential fun missions, but done in such a way that prevents you from doing the other 10 at any given time.

The new module seems to be loaded with new solo and group content. Its the much needed gap filler thats been missing. Stuff that should of come at launch but missed the mark for one reason or another.

Regardless i'm enjoying the game, far more then I did in STO. Despite playing that for well over a year. Cryptic has a habit of putting out fun combat, but in unfinished games. And those games take time to fully gel after launch. STO was a mess for a long time, but its finally getting to a state that I might try it again. I'm willing to give NW the same courtesy I gave past Cryptic games as they evolve. I know it will take time, so im in no rush, and therefore not even close to bored with it yet.

You keep saying that, and I keep going and back reading my posts to be sure, and am left shaking my head and wondering where you get that idea from. You are reading far more into my comments than is there, or there is something else going on - either way you are wrong about my intentions.

Got to 60 on my wizard, bought him 8400GS T1 gear from AH for around 50-60k AD. Leveling a GWF on different server cuz I rolled wrong shard and got separated from friends. After reaching 60, I won't have the AD since there's no more gift of Tymora, so I will log out and stay offline until the shards combine.

I'll probably log on after work every day to do the prayer, which is ironic cuz I don't pray in the real world :O Gotta get dem coins!

Well use Gateway to keep leveling my professions, since I find that more fun than the game lol.

Don't get me wrong, I like the trek from 1-60, but some how at 60 I have no desire what so ever to do anything :(

You missed part of that quote. "the same standards" Meaning, you assume that everyone plays like you and enjoys the same things you do.

Oh boy... here we go again!!! CRY WOLF!

The game's free. You're bored. I can guarantee you that everything and anything you do will eventually become bore-some if you do it long enough. Go play something else for a while.

The game's still fresh out the oven and in the process of cooling off. Meaning, give it some time to implement PVE structure and if it doesn't... Well, no loses for on your part unless you spent large amounts of Zen/ bought packs.

That's a given for any and every MMO depending upon your class...
