Hi guys, new here. Pretty much as the title, at the end of a quest dialogue, I want the player to be teleported to the next area. This is entirely a personal preference thing, and if there is no way, I will just use conventional means. Thanks for listening! Cheers.
So how was that trick done in "Clash of Wills"? Where you talk to the illithid, then the screen turns white, and suddenly you're in this other place?
*sings* "I like Gammera! He's so neat!!! He is full of turtle meat!!!"
"Hah! You are doomed! You're only armed with that pathetic excuse for a musical instrument!!!" *the Savage Beast moments before Lonnehart the Bard used music to soothe him... then beat him to death with his Fat Lute*

That's the fade to white trick. DM's studio explains it a lot better than I can. (Though there it's called Fade to Black or Black Out.)
You're not actually teleported, the room changes around you.
That explains it. The Foundry experts must all be magicians!!! O_O

From what I noticed you go from an interior map, to an exterior map. But it was quite some time since I played it last. (But i'm fairly certain the fade had - next area move. In the case of - Clash of Wills.)

Probably a structure build on an exterior map. Didn't really pay attention to the map at that point, sorry.

I'll have to replay it to be sure, but i'm fairly sure it was a cave system interior at first. (Because I got a loading screen as I went to fight the battleitself) - Or a hidden teleporter was used.

Not when you talk to the illithid, though. That looked like a chamber. You do head to a map just before that, but no loading when you talk/ right after.
I'm sure there is a map transition between the cave and the room with the boss. The transition takes you to an ocean map with a constructed room, this is where the conversation comes followed by the fade to white. The room is then removed. leaving you with the ocean map.
Yeah, there's no way to have the PC change maps without them interacting with something.
I originally was going to make a quest with what I thought was a fun idea that's similar to this though. The plan was to have the floor drop out from under the PC and they would fall (characters can fall 400' without dying when at full hp) through markers triggering a few effects, including a fade to black. Then at the bottom they would have to interact to "wake up", triggering a map change.
Of course I can't publish quests so I will never be able to use it, but maybe someone else can.
Edit: Whoops, misread the OP thinking it was talking about changing maps...As others mentioned before, for "changing" areas you can have something trigger the room to completely change around the PC, or as I mentioned above you can drop them somewhere else. Actual teleporting requires PC interaction with a teleporter.
Don't Panic.
Okay, Panic.

This, aye.

Lol! My apologies, In this case I think magic remains intact. I great quest for so many different affect reasons. Any foundry Author should play this for sure.

Here are some directions on the fade to white or in my example fade to black, but it works the say either way.

99% of things in the Foundry need to be "Interacted" with to have something happen.
We have no access to animations or this kind of trigger.
Best you could do is to maybe trigger a fade to black, and have a clicky there to have the player teleport themselves.
