How do i make a difficult slider?

I checked around the forums and I couldn't find anything on it
How do I create a difficulty slider.
This is what I have so far I have 2 maps
I talk to the 1st NPC and my 2 options in his dialog are solo and group, if I select solo the 2nd npc spawns that I can talk to. If I select group, he spawns again and his solo spawns will disappear or not appear at all, I dunno how it works, anyway now he has different dialog. after I talk to the 2nd guy a tougher encounter will spawn instead of weak ones cause I selected group from the 1st npc. so basically I need 3 npc 1 npc for the 1st one and 1 group

How you impliment that 'choice' is up to you, but this is how it's done.
