One of the most frustrating things about higher level play in NW is the lack of mobility. The problem is that characters cant "interrupt" or override an emote or spell thats being cast and port/block/tumble out of the way of something nasty thats about to kill you. As a cleric trying to keep up with team health this is a nightmare. The moment I stop to cast a spell I get 1 or more red dots popping up under me, now I have to WAIT for the spell emote to finish before I can use my port (if I have stamina) which is a hit and miss at best. Usually this results in getting hit by whatever it was that the red area was supposed to do because I was being held in place by an unfinished emote, or the game showing me moving in the desired direction, only to be rubber banded back to the spot I was just in to take the damage I thought I had evaded.
Why in the heck... seriously... WHY is movement not prioritizing over spell casts here? If someone needs to move NOW, because something unhealthy is about to happen, you cant be locked in place by casting... this game is very fast paced and really, mobility should override everything else.
I realize that spellcasting is very quick, only a second or 2 usually, however, when your dealing with mechanics that require fractions of seconds in reaction time, being locked in emotes can be a disaster.
And while on the subject.. why is it that you have to be stopped in place to do ANYTHING in this game? Even drink a potion???? REALLY??? cmon guys
what I like to do is turn the camera or line up my next shot during animation pauses, In a game that you can actually dodge by rolling behind something(most game will have arrows literally U turn and go around walls through doors/walls up elevators, Call a taxi and meet you at home. ok might be exaggerating a bit) there is a balancing factor and that factor is immobilizing you during casting/activation/drinking.
The biggest fail is you can't use spells while moving. I understand not being able to use skills that have cast time, but, for example, GWF's At Wills, why on earth he can't use them while moving? Is he retired old man or something? Most of my friends left because of that reason, it's so frustrating when someone is running in circles and you don't have stamina, ranged attacks and gap closers. You just run after him like an idiot without possibility to land a single hit.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz
okay, this what I don't understand and what I absolutely hate... I get hit and stunned, I get ready to teleport followed by a quick chains of light or divine sunburst, but I don't get to move after the stun wears off. I can cast but I'm not fricken allowed to run or to port and this doesn't just happen once but in entire sequences of hits upon me which places me right back into stun after stun. I don't see why I can't move or port or anything as soon as I'm not stunned, I mean WTF can't I?

It used to be that at-wills and powers are usable while moving (like in GW2). However, they changed it so that range classes will not be able to kite melee forever. Just imagine that CWs can cast their Ice Knife while moving and you will know why devs did that.

Sounds like they are just taking the easy way out rather then think up a better solution to the dilemma.
You mentioned GW2 and thats a good example, they made it work in that game...they cant make it work here? Its not just the PVP thats a problem, the PVE aspect of this gets screwed up as well.
To make things worse this game isnt exactly "lag free" so PVE play with even just a little chop makes issues such as these much worse. Ive given up trying to play my cleric, which is only lvl 45, due to not having the mobility I need to evade damage areas. I hate to think what its like attempting lvl 60 play with the current mechanics.
There are many aspects of NW that are pretty fun to play and I would hate to see the management here make the same mistakes that other fail MMO's have made, such as assume that because they might have a decent player base now they have plenty of time to iron out gameplay, mechanic and bug problems.
There are too many really good MMO's that are F2P out there that dont have half the problems this game has. Players are here now to basically try the game out and get a feel for it. Many of them will quit, and its much harder to get a player to return to a game then it is to get one to stay.
