As title, what is the best weapon enchantment for GWF? I'm a Destroyer path GWF, take all DPS skill and feat. So Iam aiming for damage.

I have 3 options in my mind:
1. Greater Flaming
2. Greater Plague Fire
3. Greater Bilethorn

Which one is the best? with explenations please :)

I think the choices should be between Plague-fire, Lightning, and Vorpal.

    - Plague Fire for debuffs all targets hit. But if someone else has PF then it wont stack. This is a must have in a party.
    - Lightning for just a flat dps boots on AOE. With WMS animation cancellation, and/or during Unstoppable, that's alot of lightning procs and chain procs. But only worth it for AoE not single target.
    - Vorpal. If you have very high crit% chance, then this may give you a better dps boost. Effective for both AoE and Single target.

Depends on the tree you spec in.

Vorpal can be sub-par in sent tree if they don't use SS whereas the lifedrinker one is a bit better suited.
    Lightning works for any tree.

To summarize, the best of the best for GWF is for "each attack", as our weapon damage is pretty high, the % conversion is the best boost. Anything for the for powers is limited by the rate at which our powers are used. As such, destroyer/instigator is the go to tree for those types.

Yes, I have pretty high crit chance. Maybe 3,7-4k if I use my Ioun stone. But dont you think vorpal more suited to TR? since they crit chance is higher than GWF.

I want something that can give me more damage in both normal and critical hit. D'oh, These all good enchantments make me confused.

i would also consider a lifedrinker enchantment, since GWF weapon dmg is pretty high and as a destroyer DPS spec u will be squishier than other GWFs.

There is absolutely nothing squishy about a Destroyer. 1562 Life Steal is insane survivability. In fact with the poor current state of the Sentinal tree, I consider dps Destroyer the more viable GWF tank. That said, lifedrinker is not a bad option either.

Vorpal for damage overall. greater (38%) is effectively 19% more damage. if you have 50% crit. even at 40% crit its 15% more damage. this applies to anyone not just TRs.

lightning is good for AOE but will not scale, and in groups the collection of those debuffs can make your damage double

Poor current state? I've had no problem with being a Sentinel specced GWF - in fact, I went from playing DC every day to really enjoying the GWF because of the Sentinel tree.

I didn't say you shouldn't enjoy it. But the threat feats are underwhelming. As a dps destroyer, you can hold much better aggro. The extra defense/mitigation of Sent is really overkill for PvE. A destroyer has better Determination regen and so as a tank in a run, Unstoppable is up practically 100% of the time. I grab and hold aggro on any clustered pack through high damage and lifesteal.
Now in PvP, stackin HP and greater Tenebs, obviously Sent would be a better option. But I don't care for that setup personally.

Single target: Vorpal>Flaming(if theres a GPfire already in party) > Plaguefire(if there isnt another GPfire in party) > lightning

    Aoe Dps: Lightning> Flaming>Plague> Vorpal

I don't see the point of lightning when the weaker adds clear extremely quick, whats left? One big add that has tons of HP, how is lightning going to help there?

Plaguefire if your team does not have a Gpfire. Flaming if u want to do more AOE DPS. Vorpal if you are attempting to compete with rogue for single target dps.

I run Greater Plague Fire and Perfect Lightning, both on two different weapons of course. If I need/want AOE dps I rock the PL, if I need solo DPS (or if we are in Spellplague Caverns) I rock the GPF. Having the utility to switch between both has been a great advantage. I'd recommend people looking into running multiple weapons with different enchants as it really adds to the utlility of the class.

This is of course something to work towards, took me a month to get all the Lightning Shards (buying on AH and/or trading for) and to do enough dungeons (selling loots) to afford the Wards for the Perfect Lightning. :)

I think Ive made my decision, Ill buy Greater Spellplague Fire, because almost all the time, it is me and TR who will hit the boss. So if iam using SP it'll be a major help for killing boss.

Oh hey, you just joined my guild on Dragon! :D

But understand that Plaguefire is a great debuff, but if your control wizards have a greater plaguefire, if you are either using flaming or vorpal your dps would be alot higher. Also I do not recommend using avatar 4 set.

Lightning enchant is ok. Great for holding aggro.

Vorpal has my vote for DPS.

Read the enchants one more time.

what is perfect lightning? 20% weapon damage? up to 3 chains? 480 extra damage per mob per strike. rough estimate on ancient greatsword.

Vorpal? A perfect adds 50% crit severity. That should put you at minimum 140% crit severity. Power factors into this where as it does not in lightning.
