Between DC or GF what is more entertaining?

My experience with these two classes are limited to a LVL 25 DC (mostly abandoned and used only for Crafting) and a LVL 15 GF (my latest Toon, just started out), but so far the GF seems to be the more fun. And I have never heard of a GF reduced to "Stalking" another character in order to get through any of the Solo PVE Zones. So, GF gets my vote. Of course, I am MORE than willing to accept the explanation that I am just missing something. In fact, come to think of it, this is actually, given my personal video game experience, the most likely explanation. So take my vote with a grain of salt ;)

I had a DC and GF when starting out. My DC is L 60 and I deleted the GF around L 15 to make a GWF.

At this point I now have one of each class, and its not that the GF is bad, but I wasn't loving it.

GF is far more solo friendly. And can tackle boss mobs.....well, like a boss. They really feel hard to kill. But are painfully slow to kill stuff while leveling. You really need to be deep into the feats and powers trees to even start to feel like you can hurt things. Up until your 30s its just slow and easy.

DC is just the reverse. Fragile but bursty. You can actually do a lot of damage. But crumple like wet paper. You always need to balance between dps, healing, and survival. You can pick any two, but not all three. They tend to be fine up to mid 30s then it gets harder. Without a strong tank pet or a healer healing you. Expect to eat a lot of potions

My gf is 55 and has been a blast so far. Pretty much instant q for skrimmishes and dungeons. Very easy to quest solo etc. I like my cleric which is 44. Gf is more fun though. Not to mention, clerics seem to get *****ed at far too often for not healing someone. When a dpser cries about heals when I am tanking, I just refer them to do what I do, eat some pots :p In other games though too, clerics/healers take more heat when things don't seem to go right..

Alright thanks for all the input guys. I'll probably just side with a GF for non-event play time.

I'm gonna have to echo what others have said... my GF was basically worry-free when soloing, but it gets annoying in end-game because compared to the other classes, you lack their damage output and maneuverability, while at the same time you're expected to be up front.

My DC was, at times, a chore to level up solo. They don't have the damage, and while they have excellent tools to keep themselves alive, things get more complicated if you're also constantly trying to evade the enemy. In teams, especially ones with good tanks or controls, your efforts make the team perform that much better, and your ranged nature means you can position and contribute in a much more strategic way.

I'm a DC and I obviously find it fun. I'm usually the tank but I couldn't get into the GF. I voted for GF obviously though because there's always a shortage.

    Watching paint dry!!!

Real it depends on what you enjoy, I found both classes frustrating at times & great fun at others,
both are fairly hard to get killed & slow at killing some things
DC is better at keeping the attention of mobs, still! But really cant tank (& in the new skirmish on the test server, I came last in healing)
GF can survive most things but the weapon really should be renamed 'Butter Knife' as it is really slow until you can start punting stuff of cliffs!

Both classes have the advantage of getting into a group.
    Play both!

    For leveling - GF
    For PvP - GF
    For PvE farming - GF
For Dungeons - GF (havent done much as a GF, but DC gets boring very fast in dungeons)

GF get very hard hitting encounters with massive control. Amazing self heal daily (AP builds fast when taking damage), amazing control dailies. Great gap closers (at-will+encounter) on short or no CD. Massive health, massive mitigation, great armor penetration (for a non dps class), decent crit if you enchant for it, good deflection. Plus with some regeneration and self healing procs from traits you have even more health the enemy needs to tear through.

For solo play GF is really fun. For group play though, it can be extremely frustrating. The tanking mechanics in NW are extremely fun. The sweeping attacks that hit multiple mobs, the affect that positions actually has etc, all fun. The shield mechanics are very cool, but need some tweaking, still good though. The part that makes it frustrating is the player base. NW promotes terrible habits for players through about level 35ish. So until then any class can tank anything and a tank almost isn't needed because of dodges/evades etc. After that point it ramps up and bosses hit harder, elite mobs hit harder, etc., that's when players start to actually die more frequently in skirmishes/instances/boss fights. The transition seems very abrupt at that level range and for some reason players don't seem to adjust for it well. So you still get groups that have players that insist on pulling a zillion mobs at once, trying to face tank bosses etc, and all the while wiping the group or dying and leaving. If the threat mechanics had some tweaking it might make things a bit easier for tanks, but as it stands, with most of the players you can't really 'tank' as you would traditionally, you have to be a 'peeler'.
