The ghost really is a cool companion. I used it on the Preview shard on my 60 and at lvl 1 it was still surviving most of the fights because it possessed a enemy and had it's HP. It is so cool to walk away from a battle and your ghost looks like some random enemy. By the way, the ghost will bug out training dummys so I wouldn't take it in there. It possesses them and makes them stay friendly when it leaves them.
I would have loved to use it to level from the beginning but a green Cleric is much more useful. The Green Trifling cleric is pretty tough too because it survives most fights at 60 unless I am taking a real beating. All this testing was done with my Rogue (barely any AOE) so my pets were in the fight.

Yea augment pets pretty much destroyed the whole original point of companions.
It like other mmos that add stats to cosmetic items.. Destroys the point of cosmetic items.
The only fix possible now without severely upsetting players and risking revenue loss is to allow players to have one augment and one non-augment active companion at a time.
