I was in Cragmire this weekend as a level 22 trickster rogue with a bunch of level 25's and 26's. There was a control wizard, a cleric, a great weapon fighter, and a tanky dwarf guy.
I'm not sure what the builds or armor of the other people were like. Me, I am wielding two lvl 19 shadow stilettos, and have an amulet and two rings from the gloom boxes. My build (for lack of a better term) is centered around action point creation and crit. I use sly flourish and cloud of steel, dazing strike, deft strike, and lashing blade, and my daily is bloodbath.
When in combat, my abilities are always on cooldown, I use my daily as soon as I can, and I am constantly attacking. I try not to have any downtime. I haven't put a lot of studying into Neverwinter, though I enjoy the game immensely. I have been playing online games since Ultima Online so I feel I have a decent grasp of the concepts they all share.
Here's the deal. At the end of the instance, everyone in the party had around 230K-250K damage done. I had around 960K. Is this normal for a rogue around this level to be just that much higher than everyone else? Even in skirmishes I'm at least double or triple the second highest damage. Mind you, I'm not getting the most kills, I'm usually third on the list there, so I'm not walking around obliterating things. I was just really shocked to see such a large damage discrepancy.
I know people say this class is easy mode. I love my little halfling, he looks like the quintessential dual-dagger D&D rogue I've imagined (I've been playing table-top for 27 years now). And rogues usually can put out some damage. But this just seems a bit... skewed.
Thanks!
Edit: And sorry, not complaining, because I really do love the little guy. I just got to the end and saw the damage report and I felt like I was cheating or something. I felt a little dirty... and kind of liked it

also its normal for the TR to have the highest damage since that is usualy done at the endboss...if rogues wouldnt have the highest single target damage, they would have nothing cause thats what the class has
also you cant know if your party played the cooldowns as perfect as you did, there are just too many random faccets that could explain what you experienced
Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't exploiting, etc etc. Out in the wild I often have to take potions when fighting tougher things. This was only the second time I had run an instance so was just shocked. Does flanking actually come into play in this game? If so, then that would make sense with what I was seeing. And finally learned to stealth on a regular basis. Fun fun fun! Now if only we could pickpocket.
On a completely different subject, do people not care about traps? I was trying to disarm everything I saw until I realized no one cared and just ran through em or avoided them.
and yes, traps are basicly useless currently, to oeasy to outheal/avoid
