Well, the fact that a guild and good gear is more or less required to have "an acceptable time"...is a bit of a problem, no?
So. Problems. Righteousness. This is a problem for the fundamental reason that it's an utterly nonsensical concept. A healer with a self-heal debuff (listed as a 'class ability', no less). Genius. It's something we can work around, yes, but it's a constant constant annoyance.
Also, Astral Shield, even post-nerf, is still far and away the best thing you can stick on your bar. Prior to the nerf you could basically go "as long as I maintain blue circle uptime 100%, I can do whatever the hell I want", so you could debuff, dps, CC, whatever. As long as you could keep AS up all the time, the rest of your bar was your own. Even in pugs.
Now this is a luxury reserved for those in coordinated (i.e. guild) teams, probably with great gear, too. In a pug, you'd better bring a bar full'o'heals, because you can't maintain AS uptime now, but the other classes don't seem to have gotten that memo. It's AS, another heal, and sunburst to fuel those two. This is basically your bar now. And since nothing comes close to being the amazing skill that is AS, even that extra heal encounter might not be enough, because some pugs literally do not know what to do when the blue circle goes away. "Run in all directions, into fire" is surprisingly common. You'd be amazed at how many people even at 60 seem to think clerics just do "direct clutch heals (and blue circle)".
So the fun part of being "not your usual healbot class" has become "be a healbot, plzkthx".
I'm glad you're ok with HW and BoH, but personally I find the targeting on HW is awful, recovery doesn't affect it, and you need to use it in divinity to actually clutch-heal, which means you can burn through all your pips awful fast if someone is being stupid. Stacking it on someone being pressured doesn't improve the heal ticks, it just makes them tick for longer. And you can't use it on yourself terribly effectively, because lol righteousness.
BoH needs everyone to stand together but does't provide the helpful blue magic circle for them to gather in, and takes a geological age to cooldown. And the heal isn't even that great.
Soothing light is just a comedy waste of DP, and punishing light is even worse.
And this is before we get into PvP, which I'll disregard since you're not even addressing that issue.

So a Cleric player claims they've speed leveled a Cleric and then cleared T2 dungeons with ease after paying money to gear out their level 60 Cleric?
Whoopity doo.
I call B.S. as I think you've not gotten the picture. Clerics need some attention as a class. Period. Just because you run T2 instances with experienced players doesn't mean your Cleric isn't in need of attention.
How about you go run those T2 dungeons with **** PuGs and then come back here and talk smack.
You are missing the point of the post completely. I didnt spend any money. I did spend 115k AD that i had on the character from leveling up. Then used some drake seals i had on my main. I am not uber geared im AVG geared cleric. The point of my post is Geared clerics and avg geared clerics should not be complaining that the Class as a whole needs to be reworked. If you are under geared for the content running with stupid people in pugs ofc you will have issues healing the instances. I'll say this one time "You cant heal stupid" if people are standing in red or not doing the fight mechanics ofc people will die... that is not class related thats a learn to play issue and has nothing to do with the class. A cleric shouldn't be able to heal through other peoples stupid mistakes, a cleric is there to heal through the normal damage that comes in and mitigate as much of the big hits as possible.
So aside from some bugged feats and bugged set bonus the class mechanics of a cleric is fine. The way a cleric heals the basis of the class is fine. Even the healing reduction to self is fine ( even though i dont know why this isnt only for pvp). Over all as a class the cleric is in a good spot and is very fun to play. Again i suggest finding a good guild to run with or make sure the pugs know what they are doing before you start the instances because you can't heal people that refuse to play the game mechanics.

Okay yes - 100% agree with you there! I've never heard of making it harder for a healer to heal herself! Or use more potions! Why??
Also, Astral Shield, even post-nerf, is still far and away the best thing you can stick on your bar.
I agree, any build without this is silly. But I think it's fine the way it is, just my opinion. I think I would get a bit bored if it was always down because you really don't have to do any other healing when it IS down, and so you would just build up your divinity for more AS. I dunno. As I said, I've never played with the 100% up-time so to me it would be a needless addition to the length of time it's down as is.

I like linked spirit & divine bastion of health - big burst heal plus a buff to the group. I find that to work pretty well, and healing word takes care of that rogue who somehow (why???) is always outside of both circles. And I'm not surprised that people think we have direct clutch heals - I've heard it myself. "Why don't you keep your shield down all the time?"... evidently not everyone got the memo that it was nerfed :P

I do agree that the targeting sucks. But it's decent, and I'll still use it. I wouldn't be opposed to a buff. I'm not losing anything by throwing it out there either because it builds my divinity quite nicely. As to the stupid thing - I think this is where our role as a cleric gets muddied up. It's not my job to heal someone who constantly stands in red HAMSTER or melee boss swings. I won't go out of my way to heal stupidity, which is why PUGs SUCK, they really, really do. The people who play this game are absolute morons, it's unbelievable!
The CD on BoH is long I grant you that. But I just don't find it to be a problem. I throw out a ton of astral seals, use sacred flame, and my build is designed to take advantage of temporary health gains so it's all very cooperative. I use BoH as more of a group buff and band-aid heal for when AS is on CD. Healing word helps there too, as well as adding some divinity to my bar. The heal for BoH isn't terrible - it's not GREAT - but it's not terrible. Does the trick for me, anyway. I like sunburst too, but what I love about BoH is that I can throw it on the group from ranged. Divine BoH is instant cast too, btw, not sure if you know that if you use sunburst. Regular BoH is slow to cast and yea, people run around way too much for that to be useful, unless you're topping people up after a fight.
And YES soothing light is so bad I could cry.
So, sorry for the long post! But I am mostly satisfied with my class. If they were to buff some of the heals that would be welcome, because as content gets harder, the heals need to be better. It would be really nice to see small changes, like the targeting for healing word (maybe they could do what they've done in Tera, where you lock on to a target?) but yea, mostly I'm pretty happy.
