Rank 3 crafting table not opening up.

I hired an Assistant Tailor, which is a rank 3 asset, and the crafting table DID NOT OPEN UP. The requirement says "Complete a task and earn the Rank 3 result". I also notice that the icon border is not blue like the other Rank 3 or RARE assets, rather it is grey like the COMMON assets. However, it is letting me do Level 14 Tailoring assignments, which requires a Rank 3 asset.

Am I missing something here?

Earn the rank 3 result - not use a rank 3 asset I'm afraid. You need to wait until one of the rare tasks open up that give you a chance at a tier 3 result (about level 16 from memory). For a 60% chance of a tier 3 result, you need 4 purple tools (not people), it's not that easy (or cheap!) to crack

Soooo, "Rank 3" = "Tier 3"?? The wording on the lower right table should definitely be changed if that is the case, as all professions have a "hire asst. whatever" as earning a "Rank 3 result". I wasn't using the Asst. Tailor and not getting the Tier 3 result, I upgraded my outfitters to get my "Rank 3 Asst. Tailor", expecting the table to unlock. I have been thinking this whole time that as long as I could convert 4 of my Outfitters to an Asst. Tailor successfully, it would open the table.

The wording is VERY misleading.

Apologies I misused "Tier". It is a "Rank 3" result you need, but that you don't get it by using a Green (blue or purple) person still holds I'm afraid.
