However, there's a side effect to this. I've played an MMO once that didn't give any form of valuable rewards to the losing party, the indirect result from this was that it discourages people from actually participating after a while when they saw several people/groups dominating the arena, or when someone just started doing pvp/arena itself proly because of the psychological effect of "not getting anything anyway, why bother?".
TBH this is a fair compromise for getting rid of bots and afkers.
When there are bots the team with less bots will dominate the arena. When you queue up and have bots on your team eventually teh psychological effect will be, why bother, always with the bots!.
So really very little changes.
The problem you mention could also be remedied by a ranking system. using a system such as ELO from league of legends would make most players average around 50% win ratio, since the more you lose the worst players you will play thus increasing your chances of actually winning. Matching through gear score would probably have a similar effect, as well as making separate queues for premades (although this idea would probably be negatively receieved by certain people due to longer queues and inability to e-peen pub stomp).
I didn't say substitute with glory. I said substitute with a PvP reward like glory. A new shop perhaps where you trade daily coins in. For new PvP elixirs and pots. The list can go on the fact is. AD isn't the correct reward. Anything would be a better reward then AD.
If the rewards were bound it could potentially work. Really though I personally would just prefer the AD since I can buy the superior PVE equipment with AD to use in PVP. Personally I"ve been using my glory to make AD for nearly 2 months now. Really though, stripping the rewards for losing will remedy all the problems with afkers and bots, since you are making it very very likely that your team will lose by afking/botting and will generally not be rewarded for doing so.

So yeah, bots and afkers are like cockroaches. The best way to get rid of them is to not give them something to feed on.
Also the bots that are farming glory are most likely kids and not the chinese websites. The Chinese sites farm leadership as you can make much more and not noticeable by players. It's also farmed from the gateway and not in-game.

- Replacing armor rewards with vanity rewards, costumes, titles, mounts, etc.

- Separate PVP and PVE effectiveness of gear. Implement a PVP specific damage reduction/mitigation, and/or diminishing returns. In return, introduce PVP specific armor penetration stats that's only available on PVP gear.
- Lower the power stats on PVP gear to reduce it's effectiveness in PVE.
- All PVP rewards are BoP and cannot be auctioned.
The above were meant to produce these effects:
People who never (or rarely) done any PVP will never suddenly own people who does just because they farm dungeons 24/7.
People who does PVP all the time would still be able to do dungeons/PVE content but with far reduced effectiveness from using PVP gear if they do use them in PVE.
People who does PVE all the time and rarely do any PVP would still be able to PVP but not to the extent that they own PVPer just because they have a full set of T2 gear with teneb/vorpal from farming dungeons all the time.
This will provide more diversity from gear distribution and variations and should made gear (even class) balancing a bit easier since Cryptic could focus on one area of game content at one time (PVP or PVE) and not both should they need to do so from equipment/gear perspective.

Not only that, you can buy the PVE gear that is alot better than the PVP rewards with AD.

Maybe all the PvP players should que for the next DD and go afk its the same thing. You should be PvPing for a PvP reward. You should be doing a DD for a PvE reward. Its common sense really. The fact some don't get this /mind blown.
A good option with fixing this reward would be making everything in the PvP shop BoE so it can't be AH. That would fix a lot there too.

Although I don't agree with taking the AD from the reward, I do see their point. If they are farming glory to sell things for AD then the AD reward (which requires no selling in a fluctuating market ) would be an added enticement. But I do also understand what you are trying to say as well. Just taking AD away won't fix the issue.
Honestly, the only solution I see is by making glory less valuable to the bot farmers. BoP the products bought with glory is the only way I see that it may deter bot farmers. BoE would solve nothing if they didn't choose to equip it.

I disagree with this. Actually, AD can affect those that PVP. You can convert the AD to Zen for purchasing bank slots, bags, etc (not diresctly affecting PVP). You can also use the AD to purchase enhancements from the auction house which does influence PVP.
It seems as though some of you have forgotten there are people that play the game mostly PVE, and never do PVP without the daily. But there are also those out there that mostly PVE but do enjoy PVP from time to time (myself included). I

While I'm against bound items in general I think for PvP the items should not be tradeable . That would solve a lot more problems than eliminating the AD rewards will.

We want pvp rewards.
And solution to bots is so simple just add something we all want ... pvp rankings and matchmaking based on them. Bots will suck on rankings and will get to fight each other and not bother real players. New players will get special, free bot training until they raise their ranking and then get to face real players. This fixes problem of bots ruining pvp experience for players.
For other aspects of botting there is no fix that doesn't involve all players also quitting (no rewards or everything in game bound on pickup, no trading whatsoever allowed) - and even then botters will sell game accounts (so making game singleplayer is solution :P).
Most of the listed problems on the forums and a lot of QQ about bots, afkers, players just wanting to get there daily in depending on bracket 1-4 games. It makes sense to some taking a break from whatever they are doing to que up if they are low on AD and broke cause they don't know how to make AD to try and afk threw the PvP daily for 4000AD.
This is the problem!! Please remove AD from the PvP daily. I don't do PvP or the daily for it and don't want AD as a reward. Its stupid. Why would you reward me a PvP player with a PvE currency. Not only that you are encouraging botters and afkers to join a PvP game for this very small #$%^ reward. The current #$#% reward draws even worse players that don't care to do there daily AFK.
Simple fix to the afk, botter movement is the reward. I much rather have a PvP reward for the PvP daily. Maybe I am the only one that thinks this is common sense but really.
The rewards could be
PvP pots or battle elixirs
Glory
PvP unique dyes.
Coins to use in a PvP shop
Ect...ect...ect.. Remove AD as a reward from our PvP we don't want it. We do 20 matches a day and would like to see some PvP rewards from it. I doubt players would stop after there dungeon for PvP rewards to afk in. Just makes sense.
You have a point, but I would prefer that the AD for the daily remained except you only got it if you win a game- that would dissuade people from afking.
All you do is QQ, seriously are you a kid out for summer or what. ALL you do is gripe about pvp in some shape or form, usually about perma stealth rogues and you have a very high opinion of yourself and love to pat yourself on the back for stupid ideas.
Then tell me how changing one reward to some other reward would remove said botters.

before any of that can be done... improve PVP overall. I for one would have no desire to PVP in it's current format if there was no reward/or rewards as you mentioned.

The only time me and my mates have a good time in PvP is when we do arranged Guild vs. Guild Premade challenges.
