You receive a letter from Bigby the Great. It reads:
"Salutations,
I have managed to track down Zigby the dwarf. He has unleashed a horde of murderous kobolds on the township of Thundersley. Please come immediately, and bring back-up!
Your friend,
Bigby"
Gameplay: Mostly combat with some light story.
Difficulty: Optional, with some fairly challenging bosses.
This quest features characters from the Forgotten Realms graphic novels, and also Greyhawk characters created by Gary Gygax, and his son, Lucian Paul Gygax. It is the much awaited sequel to Campaigns & Kobolds, so you might want to play that quest first in order to better understand the story of this one if you haven't already done so..
I've decided I'll add in an optional easy mode sometime in the near future, because this map is just truly too difficult... What I'll do is have a dialogue option to make the harder encounters disappear if the player is having too much trouble. It will be accessible at any point in the quest, so you won't have to worry about those pesky Red Dragon Wyrmlings or Kobold Berserkers anymore. If you could playtest my map, and tell me which encounters are TOO HARD, I would greatly appreciate it.. As of now I'm thinking I'll just cut the Kobold Berserkers and Red Dragon Wyrmlings. But some other encounters might be too hard as well, which is why I need YOUR feedback! Thanks.
I have added new options to this map to adjust the difficulty to your liking. You can choose to make four different types of encounters disappear, which add up to ten encounters altogether. You can make the kobold berserkers, kobold blackguards, kobold witches, and red dragon wyrmlings disappear. Just talk to the female elf who impersonated Melf in Campaigns & Kobolds. These options will be available throughout the entire map, so you can always try them out, then make them vanish if they end up killing you. You'll still have to contend with the mini-boss, the Kobold Champion, along with the final boss.. Anyway, go ahead and try it out. Since it's still in the For Review section, you might have to search by the short-code, or subscribe to me to see it.

I like the challenging combat on the spiral. That had to take a while to make. Loved the giant gear mothership. Zigby and his dam Foundry LOL.
Thanks again, Zovya! By the way, I made another edit on this map. Broke the final boss into different sections to make it easier. Just need a couple more plays to get out of the For Review section now.
How about a campsite for when you get knocked off the hundredth time, are out of injury kits, and sick of reclimbing that frikkin spiral? I abandoned the quest, I probably won't play again. Not all of it is the foundry author, GWF is messed up, Unstoppable doesn't work half the time, so there is absolutely no defense against knockbacks

This is spot on. As a level 53 GF, I found this quest almost impossible to do. I can block knockbacks so they don't cause initial damage...but it still tosses us. It took me well over an hour (and 15+ healing kits & countless potions) to finally finish this quest, even with using the "easy mode".
Now as far as the "easy mode", I appreciate Wuhsin including this, but it really didn't help, and I was kinda disappointing with it. Just because the level scaling is whacked in the foundry, doesn't mean I DON'T want to fight certain creatures....I just want the entire quest toned down. Removing entire "classes" of enemies reduces the number to fight....but doesn't adjust for the scaling at all.
As far as the scaling, and this is NOT unique to this foundry quest, I wonder if one of the issues is that some foundry creators aren't really interested in the rest of the game, therefore they have a fairly low level character that they use for the foundry. Unfortunately, this prevents the creator from actually being able to test and see how the balance is at higher levels.
Was the quest fun? Yes and it could be even more so......but by the end, it was far more frustrating then fun.

I liked the first quest of this series, I'll give this a go later tonight.
As a side note, perhaps a "GWF need to be fixed, but in the meantime..." Trigger needs to be placed at the spiral, to make it do-able for that class?
Just tried your quest. The environments were stunning, but I was unable to complete it due to some "technical difficulties" on my end. I'll PM you with details.

EDIT: Played and reviewed
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Every time they idiot-proof something...they make better idiots.
