Online Friend list doesn't sort correctly anymore

Warning: Don't try this in your game unless you want to break your list. A friend was asking me and another friend to fix and all of us ended with bugged friendlists.
Basically if you open your friendlist in social tab 'O'. By default all your online friends should be listed on top. If you press online again a few times it then breaks your online friends to two groups- one on top of friend list and one on bottom. Trying to sort again by clicking online only swaps between the groups. Sorting by other options do not fix this issue. This can be annoying as you can't see who's online at a glance.
I think this only became a problem with the latest patch, but it could have been earlier.
