New Poll: Do you min max or do you roleplay?

If I roleplayed, I'd be a Halfling on all my characters, except GF (being big just makes too much of a difference in practical terms while tanking in an action combat/targetless game).

As it is, Human feat bonus + extra Defense is just way too nice to not pick for Cleric, which is a shame since most players in MMOs naturally pick humans or human-like anyway.

    Human, and I min/max.

The game just isn't "Polished" enough at the moment, I don't feel a strong enough connection to RP in it.

I look down at non-pure elf races if that is what you mean, I think the elves are too fat and the other races ewww, just ewww. Halflings aren't so bad, but they are too tiny, like babbies.

Half-Elf. I was able to get 20s on all the major stats while getting 14 on Int and Con.

Surprised by the number of Half-Elf Clerics - can someone explain why this is?

I do have one at 60, but feel the 3 extra feats and 3% defense boost for Humans are far more valuable than the +2 CON and +1% crit severity.

its cause of the +1% gold find.... honestly though, the 3 extra feat points aren't viewed as being useful as everyone has enough feat points to already get what they will be slotting anyways, which means the trade off is between 3% defense or +2 con and +1% crit severity... but with the latter you get +1% gold find (some people however just like how half-elves look over humans)

as far as elves and dwarfs, some people just prefer dwarfs and some people struggle and have struggled with eating disorders in real life and take elves at their most slenderest of settings and then think in the game that they are still obese and fat (I'd love my elves to drop another 40 pounds)

I thought tieflings had great bonuses for a cleric, especially for DPS clerics, but I guess no one wants them.

To be fair, Half Elves look amazing in gear. At least when they are not Clerics and therefore forced to wear awful-looking chain mail underwear as everyone else.

I once saw a low level Half Elf wizard in exactly the same outfit as me, a Tiefling wizard. The outfit looked completely different and she was so pretty in it compared to me I was shocked!

But, yes, its kind of surprising poll result. In game, I almost never see non-Human Clerics and they are very rarely elves. Normally, they are dwarfs.

Neither could I. And I didn't want all my characters to be human.

I have a female tieflings now, and I like the debuff she put on bosses while off-dps the boss.

    Not just dps.

Bloodhunt: You deal an additional 5% damage to targets below half health.

Forgemaster's heal is based on it's damage, no?

Infernal Wrath: Whenever you are hit, you have a 10% chance to lower the Power of the attacker by 5% for 5 seconds.

Another little defensive bonus. Every little helps.

    This XD

Humans - 3 extra heroic feats. For what? Min/max what? Cleanse? lol

Half Elf, not really "min-maxing" - it's just "my thing", I make half elfs in all the dnd games. BGs, NWNs, DDO, you name it. I usually play as half elf ranger but since there's no ranger I chose the healer (it's kinda hard to imagine a dnd game without a ranger, hope they'll add him someday). But to be fair its not that bad choice - +2con +2wis, +1 int (from dilettante) and knack for success, could've been worse.

I made my DC as a half-elf for the looks.

Even if I min-maxed, I'd use Dwarf for PvP on critbuild and would still pick the half-elf on balanced build for PvE.

Thing is, the 3 feat points are useless becuase of the garbage feats available, and the 3% bonus defense is rating, so at 2k def I'd get +60 defense. This is also worthless. So human vs half elf in reality is
    2 stat vs. 2 wis
60 def vs. 2 con (4% max HP)
3 heroic feat vs. 1 int (1% recharge speed) 1% severity 1% deflect.
The best you could argue is that they are equals, but for my tastes, half-elf wins min-max too.

I made my Cleric Elf because why not? i don't really care too much about min maxing stuff.
Stats count, yes. but i prefer experiencing the game and the roleplay.
