Everytime I try to JOIN a party in the Social window...

Has anyone encountered this issue?
Everytime I try to join a party in the social window, I get the error message:
"You cannot leave the party in this instance queue"
Except that I am not IN a party. I don't have anything queued!
Ahh...this game is frustrating...so many things don't work as intended!
