I have one of every class. All are 10k+ GS and all have 1k+ kills (CW and TR are over 5k). Right now at the high end (12k+ GS greater+ soulforged greater+ vorpal/plaguefire) the power order in pvp is:

    GWF > TR > GF > CW > DC

(btw kills is not the same thing as the above list. Because of dps TRs, assuming equally geared, will almost always have the most kills)

That being said CW can beat the melees some of the time but you have to use ever advantage. Don't hug corners: TRs there will stun you from stealth. Keep range at all times. Run when you can instead of blinking unless you must. Save your blinks for dodges when they wind up a big attack on you.

I usually keep RoE tabbed. My 1v1 fight is typically at max range RoE once, choke, RoE, one volley of missiles, chill strike, repel. If this gets off I am usually in a good position to win with a few blinks while encounters recharge. If it doesn't then I will die. :)

If you want an in your face class play GWF. They are currently over the top when properly specced and geared.

If you are willing to accept the limitations of CW you can play a huge role in your team winning by fighting in the group. Debuff the fighters. Save repels for rogues that unstealthed and are about to crush your healer or other teammate. Choke hold enemy healer > cw > tr in that order. Range dps those that try to get away.

    Hope this helps.

Im not sure if anything has changed for you guys post patch. Im finding Hotenow with the boosts to melee effectiveness just is a painful map to pvp on.

It seems like we have been relegated to a support only class with little 1v1 effectiveness. Between GWF health pools and regen, stealthed COS which are just annoying every game. Now that ROE is a dot it cant be applied when a rogue pops Impossible to catch in stealth. So now their ranged at will does more damage than MM. Then they just pop out of stealth knowing rays debuff wont hold, none of my cc's work on them. GG

I rarely if ever lose a 1v1 to a CW but it seems like melee is just become too overpowering. All i find im doing is back pedalling.

Just some questions seeing as with my 7k GS I have quite some difficulties to deal damage outside of Ice Knife and staying alive once my Stamina is 0 does this improve significantly at higher GS? I'd like to be able to deal noticabe damage without Ice Knife currently whenever I go up against a GW/GWF/TR I feel like a pea shooter while I eat 4-8k crits from encounters all day long.

This isn't a complaint in the least. I'm a new PvPer and I play a CW and more often than not I get totally owned by the CW on the opposing side LOL I chalk it up to learning my powers and how to PvP properly. I know that if I go up against a GWF 1v1 I'm toast if I can't port fast enough, the shield knock back from a GF does a hella amount of damage and Rogues? LOL I have a TR toon as well...I know **** well if I let a rogue get close to me I'm as good as dead.

I know the other classes strengths, it's now just a matter of finding my own. :) I'm not going to cry that any one class is OP because they all have their own version of OPness...if they were all evenly matched, what a boring game this would be.

    I'll get it eventually...or not...either way I still have fun :)

    Great post.

From the perspective of hardest to fight (given your criteria of 12K+ GS, and assuming top player skill), I find the order to be:

Perma stealth TR >>> CW > GWF > GF > TR > DC.

I have followed the tips and tricks here in this thread and on the forum. Thanks you all for the help.

My conclusion is either that my gear is too substandard and/or my ping is too high since I live in Europe because I can't stand a chance against TR. At the same time as I can possibly see them on my screen they have removed half of my life. One rogue did a single hit for 26 600 dmg yesterday at the same time I could see him, even if my FOV is 75.

With that said I can either buy BIS gear and hope it helps or start a rogue or don't play.

EDIT: Just so I don't get misunderstood. I very seldom die... but I have to work way too hard for that and it's not a fun play style.

As a CW, I find it extremely useful to teleport into enemies. You will often dodge and go through their attack and they will be forced to turn and catch you versus just pressing onwards. If they are reactively pushing the next encounter (say one that needs area targetting), they will be aiming ahead, not behind. You will see a large difference in survival pushing yourself further into the fray versus staying on the outskirts to be picked off.

The TRs are really annoying. When they 'become invisible' and back stab a CW, there

i read this and i tried it and i found that it works really well.

I dont use it to port into the melee because for me that didnt seem the best idea. It certainly does mess with their heads.

Ive found that when the GWF gets big you can port to the side dont cast and just keep walking in a semi circle to them. They dont seem as you said to turn well. They burn their indom and you havent added to their determination so u nuke them down.

What ever you do dont attack them when they are immune. You wont kill them. You need to wait otherwise you just add to their meter and bam they are immune again. Burst cc is the only way. Icy ray in tabb. Chillstrike, EF and ray of enfeeb. With good gear you can hoist them up and burn before they can click indom again.

So, I've tried many, many setup and respecced a few times but the CW still suck badly in PVP.

I can round the corner on my Epic mount and boom! A rouge is hidden, backstabbing me = dead without being able to cast anything.

If a warrior gets Close to me = dead without being able to cast anything.

GWF = dead no matter what.

If you play a CW, or even if you don

Maybe you should play Hello Kitty Online ?

CW is definatly something you have to have patience for since it has casting time for all its encounters while the other classes attack instantly, you just have to keep your distance and learn to blink like a pro, normally if im fighting a gwf who constantly knocks me down ill switch to repel encounter since it really does help in certain situations, or ill just use the advantage of control spells to drag the enemies away from the bases so the rest of the team can cap, arcane singularity and choke and ice rays are your friend (:
