Pirate's Skyhold quest problem

I posted this over in another section, but no one had replied.
I'm trying to do the Scalefather quest, key word here is trying. So far I have died 4 times and it's driving me crazy I'm a level 41 GWF, so far the best I've done is to get him nearly dead along with his other mini boss, before the mini boss takes me out. Most times if I die to a boss I figure out what I did wrong and kill them on the next try. So far on this guy I just seem to be getting overwhelmed with adds.
So, my question is should I be able to solo him at lvl 41?
