GWF - Best companion to use?

hi all!

What companions u guys recomend?
I'm getting around the 50 lvls and have some doutbs which companion to aim for:

Kelemvor acolyte - Seems like the lifesteal would greatly help in tough battles, anyone uses this companion?
Ioun of Allure - Don't exactly understand how the stone works.. is it good bonuses?

Or should I acquire companions that focus on dealing damage (rare ones are best? Fenix bird, Fire Archon or Galeb Dur or the Honey Badger?)


Also, which runestones you guys place, the ones that give bonus stats or the ones that improve the companions?
If theres any good guide on companions pls point ^^ (the ones I've seen lack real technical info).

I like cleric because in tough situations the 20% heal is always useful. I like the Control-wizard pet because he does aoe damage and that's also nice :P Goodluck!

I use the puppy, just for fun.

I avoided the cleric, so i could learn to avoid and mitigate more effiiciently while leveling.
Having a pocket healer allowed me to facetank alot of stuff, didn't do me good for practice really. Besides, they throw potions at you like crazy.
