Hey! I really liked the story! The whole sun / moon-thing was pretty cool. Only point that I didn't liked, was the fact, that there was no music in the two crystal-caves with the pre-bosses, but perhaps this was intented. Opening the gate with the two wands was cool and felt epic. Also liked the names of the characters!

There are no screenies yet? Lets change that:

Use them for the opening-post, if you want!

Thanks for the quest. It was entertaining! Looking forward to Part III. Greets!

Wow you got some nice screenshots of my stuff. My favorite is the last one with the wolves appearing out of the mist. It really captured the atmosphere of the dungeon. Thank you. :)

The music does stop in the crystal caves because I was trying to convey the idea that these areas were sacred. I just didn't like any of the music scores for it so I gave it ambient sounds only.

Hehehehe! I saw, how those foggy wolves are coming... I thought: "This looks great! Push the button!" - and I managed to photograph them, before they eat my flesh. ;)

Oh, yes! I knew there is a reason, why the crytal-caves are silenced. Allright. :)

Just for the record, Pris23 asked me to review her quest for my Monday Madness thread.

I have done so, and will PM her my full feedback.

However, I just have to say this is exceptionally good story-telling, with exceptionally well-crafted maps.

I was saddened by only two things: 1) I was limited to ONLY giving it 5 Stars, and 2) I had already reached my maximum "Tip Allowance" for the day.

This is a long quest, but it is, in my opinion, worth every single minute of it.

There is no "time wasted" on meaningless combat, every room adds something to the story, and the story is brilliantly crafted and delivered.

I have played some amazingly good Foundry Quests over the past month or so, and I have handed out quite a few 5 Star reviews as well; but only one Quest has so far had me say "****, I wish I'd done that" and this was it.

    I agree redneckronin.

I thoroughly enjoyed both parts. And while I have Visigoth's video review to thank for helping me find this gem, he was so wrong about "travelled the realm over". It is grammatically correct, poetic and archaically perfect. Shame pris allowed himself to be persuaded to change it to the clumsy modern version we have now.

PS: I may have made mention of this in both my reviews...I'm on a one-woman, mini campaign to see the original version reinstated. :o

Ha ha. I have actually changed that back and forth several times. I think I ended up changing it back to "the realm over" because I liked the way that it sounded better when I read the paragraph again. :) I am glad that you like it.

I think I am probably done changing the quest at this point so you don't need to worry about it going back to a more modern version. :) P.S. I think it was re-publishing while you played because I was surprised at your comment about the wording.

Oh Vis, your opinion is always valued. If not for some of your statements, my quests would not have turned out as well as they have. :) You helped me to understand what others were talking about in some cases as well.

I am going to run your Anvilbreaker quest tonight. I have some free time tonight so I am gonna make sure I don't get caught up designing Part 3 so I can run through it.

    Cheers!

I think you took that with the humour intended. Hope so anyway as I didn't mean to offend and really do love your videos. By the way, when you were reading and re-reading that line, I was giggling and willing you to 'get' it.

I did :] hence the " ;D " my reading comprehension is not-bad/ better then most "but still not ivy league, I didn't go to a university, only Culinary school in NY and Vocational Collages for metallurgy/Blacksmithing/BladeSmithing/Armoring, Welding "MIG, TIG, ARC and various other Vocational Classes for Certifications"

"when you were reading and re-reading that line, I was giggling and willing you to 'get' it."
yeah some times the specific wording of sentences throws me off "In High School they told me I had a learning disability and tried to pawn me off on some crappy 'Special Ed teacher and her class of goof-offs and Truly 'Special Ed' students 'Kids with autism and mental growth issues' I was having non of that! luckily I was able to graduate with a 'Standard' diploma. but I'll agree my Mental Cognition is different then that of the 'majority of society' ;p

I'm a fan of Chaucer, Shakespeare/ Shakespearean literature, Epic Poems/ Episodic Legends, Folklore, Arthurian legend and the like. "the SCA is a big hobby/ $$$ maker in my life".

my spelling and grammatical punctuation on the other hand O_O

Yeah, my grammar is terrible. I thought it was funny when you mentioned that my sentence structure had a Japanese feel to it. I have been teaching myself Japanese for a few years now because I absolutely love Japanese culture and folklore. I am a little obsessed with Samurai and their culture, which in turn makes me watch a lot of Japanese cinema. I got sick of reading sub titles so I attempted to learn enough to get by watching without them. :) I wonder if that has had an effect on my sentence structure...I will ponder that for awhile. :P

My favorite movie of all time is called Aragami. It is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura and was part of a movie duel. The movie duel required one set and a martial duel to the death by the end of the film. Oh yeah, both movies had a very limited budget and had to be filmed within 2 weeks. The other film was called 2LDK, but that one scared the HAMSTER out of me (girls are really scary...I know, I am one). I never did find out which movie was the winner, but I think Aragami deserves to win.

Azumi is another awesome film based on the Manga. You may enjoy that one as well. :)

Of course Kurosawa is a master. There is no denying that. His films made me begin to look up Japanese history.

"Azumi" is a good movie :]

I have a lot of free time "Netflix, Crunchyroll, and access to the internet" lol so I watch a lot of movies ;p

you might get a kick out of/ enjoy "War of the Arrows, 13 Assassins, House of Flying Daggers" if you haven't already seen them "there all somewhat recent" if you haven't already seen "Lone Wolf and Cub the TV series, its a really fun "classic"

I'm also a fan of Korean, Chinese, and other Asian movies/ culture "I even really enjoy the low budget or comically HAMSTER one's too"...well and other random Cultures "like Gaul, Visigoths, Rome, modern Sweden, Danish, etc...lol History is cool, "the world is filled with amazing and amazingly interesting things" XD

Without a doubt, the best Foundry adventure I've played so far. Yes, it's a lengthy quest, but worth every minute. Richly detailed environments, a great story, and one of the most challenging (but balanced and appropriate) finales I've found. Excellent!!! A very easy 5/5 stars!

Hey thanks! I feel like I have come a long way since I began creating those quests. It is nice to know that my efforts are working. :) I am working hard to release the next Parts of the campaign, but I am taking my time to ensure that they are better than a rough draft version.

I will check out your quest later this evening. :)

Well, I'm shocked that this hasn't made it out of review yet.

This is certainly in the top 5 Foundry Quests I have seen.

I have a couple guildies that still play, I'll send them a nudge and see if they'll play/review it for you; they tend to have similar tastes to my own - good story is everything - so they should be appreciative of the effort behind this.

And to any Authors that haven't played and reviewed this to help get it Daily Eligible - what the heck are you doing!?!?!111111lolz :p

Well, luckily one of them was on-line and he ran it straight away, and if everything goes right and he remembers to do a review you should be Daily Eligible now.
