Could we get an answer on this?

Whats the over all player base so far for this game?

What was the player base during open beta launch compaired to now did it go down or up seems to me on city populations its gone down?

Is there more people signing up or are they leaving faster then they sign up?

The dev's should have these stats.

1.5 mil in beta all I know is my shard is packed most times I log in, despite the usual whining, the game seems to be doing well, no WoW killer but that wasn't what they were aiming for.

Really where does that 1.5 million number come from?

Probably around 3000-4000 players. Probably less. Beholder's peak time activity dropped alot. You can check it for your self by pressing M in Enclave and see the amount of instances and players in it. Of course you should add around 300-500(less on Beholder) players to that number since not everyone is in PE.

The Article says SWOTR had 1.5 mil players during Launch. I don't see any figures for NW.

They're not giving the numbers. Never have. Never will.

Well, during the end-of-beta event, the most number of instances of Protector's Enclave I saw was 45.

45 * 75 people = 3375. Say that was half the people on the server, which gives us 6750 on the server at once. Now of course not everyone logs on at once, so let's say that's only a 24th of a server's pop - that gives us 164,400, multiply by the 3 servers and we get to 493,200 or just under 0.5 million

In fact at this point I'd say 0.5 mill is possibly a little generous for the active population. Of course the registered accounts figure will be a lot higher, what with gold sellers and sock puppet accounts not to mention all the people that by now have given up and moved on.

That seems more like it i would say maybe 500k or less. Thats just about SWtor numbers also. Started 1.5 and dropped to 6 figures. BUt question is. IS it still falling?

what is a sock puppet account?

Multiple accounts created by the same person for whatever reason (to set up their own guild, or simply have more characters without buying extra character slots).

With 1.5 million players already doing just that during the beta phase alone, it looks like the team at Neverwinter might just have found their niche. Here’s hoping.

Did you ever think that this is just a marketing line? do you even know how large the amount 1.5 million is? 3 servers (or 1 server divided in 3 shards) for 1.5 million is not even technically possible. (at least i have yet to see that)

So let's say 500k per server/shard. Instances have a limit of 150 people. Let's say out of the 500k 150k logon daily. Let's say out of the 150k, 100k idle/trade in PE.

100000/150 . That means that there are 666 instance running Or even with half of it in PE. If you have a screen shot of that then i will shut up. Most i have seen on Beholder is like 30 instances.

Most of you fan bois are delusional about the state of this game.

Ya i guess your meth is more correct so the real player base is probly even lower then 500K.

And yes in that review it was never quoted that they even said 1.5million in beta either. So no person from cryptic was ever quoted on that number.

I say probly there is maybe 100K maybe 200K people playing the game right now and the number does seem to be dropping not gaining.

1.5m is almost certainly accounts and not active daily players. That was during "beta phase" aka their busiest time which was the first week of OB when the hype was still fresh and the disappoint was still low.

You can easily log into your server and go to enclave, click change channel and check the numbers there. Generally it will be a few hundred, but obviously not everyone is in enclave 24/7. I'd suspect a few thousand, maybe 1-3k log in daily at different hours, doing whatever they enjoy doing per shard. Is it dead? no, but it surely isn't as packed as they would like you to believe or as what most would hope for. Honestly on my first 60 which was when the game was more popular I rarely saw anyone chatting outside of enclave which there it was just WTS/LFG spam.

    TL;DR Don't automatically believe a Dev post about numbers lol...especially on a F2p

You are missing a key point here. Every PWE account can access Neverwinter. So for example. Let's say Alice plays Forsaken World only. It is still an account that can log in into Neverwinter. So yea , then you can say that you have 1.5 mil POTENTIAL players. But in reality it's not.

Two things to note. Everquest had 1 million active subscribers in the golry days. If anyone is as old as me here then you remember the amount of servers they had. Second thing, currently on Beholder there are 13 instances in PE. Lowest has 11 players, highest 148. Two of them have a player amount higher than 100.

Also in my previous post i made 1 mistake in my assumption. I assumed that the game always fills an instance before creating a new one. That is of course not the case. So for 100k players you need way more than 666. But even if it is just 25k or 10k. You still need a good amount!

And this is why you won't get an answer, like you asked in your OP. Even if they did come out and say the numbers, you (and others) would just claim they were lying.

Eve has 500K that play on one server. Why is it impossible to think that 3 can't hold 1.5 million?

Besides, not everyone logs in at the same time. Even if that 1.5 million is correct, all 1.5 million don't log in at the same time.

Honestly I don't care if there are 15 milions of players of just 15 of them so long how there are enough of them to keep the game alive and I enjoy to play it.
The numbers of accounts is something that should concern the publisher of the game not us :p

Well saying they have 1.5 million players isnt a lie per say. They just never said "neverwinter online has 1.5million" PW as a whole might have close to that as stated before from OP. And they where never quoted saying that number either so maybe the writer just put it in?

I dont want an ANSWER. I want data, metrics for neverwinter online. I know we wont get it cause it would show a true number. And the number of actual players dropping.
