Is conqueror the only viable tree still? I really like tank classes and enjoy making everything in the dungeon mad at me, but it feels weird to keep agro, be tough as steel, and take top dps too... Is there any way to be the traditional tank; keep agro, take tons of damage, and let the party do their job?
I understand the pros of the conqueror spec, but i want a more traditional tank if it is feasible in this game. Just the fact that the tank is considered a decent dps feels weird to me. I know conqueror is considered to be the best. I just want to know if there is any alternative at all, and if there are parties accepting and running with them in T2 and gauntylgrym (when it finally starts working).
Currently there is no mechanic in any fight that requires a "Tank". With their current envisioning of an action RPG there probably won't ever be and in my opinion should never be.
I would how ever like to see a few mechanics introduced that required some sort of survivibility as currently GF dont actually hurt groups that know what they are doing. TR's burn bosses faster and can control them just as well. Double CW can control the trash clearing as well and kill them faster.
As I said it is the way fights are structured that is hurting the "Tanks" but at the same time the difference between the specs is marginal on the survivibility but huge on dps output. Both specs can grab and old aggro equally well since we use the exact same mechanic.

Conqueror tanks just as well as any other spec and does more damage.
