LOL I tried my hand at healing in the lowbie skirmish I think it was the orc one and got Out healed by a GWF, Which my main is and I know that one strike has a self heal but come on. I use Hallowed ground astral seal stacked on the mobs and healing word.... is that rite?
Sounds right. You really have to spam Astral Seal, Sunburst and maybe even occasional Healing Word like crazy though at those levels.
Couple of things though:
1. Companion healing seems to count as self-healing so, you can easily be outhealed by other's Cleric Companion. Especially GWF's with Cleric companion. Yup, that's right Cleric Disciple is better at healing than an actual Cleric for quite a while!
2. You bring a lot more than just healing, at least later anyway, because of Damage Resistance feats and Class Features. These do not show up directly in healing numbers, of course.
Sunburst too? That can do a fair amount of heal, if you get several players inside it's radius. I never took that off my bar yet.
Hallowed Ground won't heal damage until/if you take Moon Touched epic feat later on. It will reduce damage taken a good bit though, but that won't be counted towards amount healed. Still use it often at 60.
About the GWF. I never look at end boards, but I think popping potions counts towards damage healed. Maybe the person was getting stomped and chugging a lot of potions?
It's just hard to rack up big heal numbers that early on.
What do you mean healing at low levels is difficult? It's the easiest thing in the world. At low levels you are only expected to do two things: use Astral Seal on elites/bosses, and use Sunburst. That is your healing. Healing Word is optional. Soothing Light is situational. You may have to explain how Astral Seal works to new players.
A cleric who tries to be a healbot at low levels is trying too hard, especially considering that if you spam Sunburst/Chains/Searing Light + Flame Strike you have godly AoE burst potential and will likely top both DPS and healing done charts. If you're not helping kill stuff at low levels (thus reducing the need for healing) then you're doing it wrong.
If you want to be a healbot-type cleric you will have to wait until mid/high levels, when you start investing in paragon feats and start getting better healing powers. I suggest reading guides on how to customize your cleric so you know which feats/powers are best for damage mitigation/pure healing, or you might end up picking the wrong feats/powers.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.
