There is a bug where your basic alchemical knowledge is not showing up in you gateway for doing the experimentation rewards. This ends up not allowing you to do the research task. It is however showing up in the game, so if you log in you can do the research task there. Its frustrating lol, I did the lvl 5 experimentation task like 8 times through the gateway thinking I had horrid luck.
