GF Equipment discussion

Well ist all about the equipment but i dont want to talk about tenebrous enchantments. i prefer "normal" damage, but im a little bit confused while looking for upgrades for my GF.

My GF is not using Timeless Hero or even another T1, T2 set. I cant believe that these Sets got enogh power to be better than a "normal" equipment. What is normal equipment? Just using some Items which are good :p thats all.

Im using Knight Captains Set (well i could change these items and use high general which got slightly better stats) to get the 400 ArPen.

Well, its playable in dungeons. Defense is low (40% but its not a problem at all), but the damage is high enough and its funny in PvP.

Now im thinking about timeless hero:
+ more Power (+550*2=1100)
+ more recovery (+500)

-less crit (-450)
-less arpen (-700)

+/-defense doesnt matter at all - i got 40% damage reduce, more defense would result in 45-48% wow... :x

Why should i use timeless hero? 5200 power -> with timeless hero i would have something around 6300 power. well its not looking like a huge improvement. recovery is not that important. Crit rate as set bonus depends on skills and at the beginning of a combat its useless. In PvE its a little bit more useful, but in PvP its quite useless because GF is doing hit and run/hide behind shield. The hit must be devastating, one rotation (lunging, bull, frontline, lunging, daily if rdy) = one kill - nothing else should be acceptable. This way i cant believe that timeless hero is that powerful.

So how would you improve my GF?! Just getting better enchantments, well okay, thats right, most enchants are lvl5. But enchantments are not my highest priority. Im thinking about new gear, but well... timeless hero seemed to be a useless set ... hyped, but still useless.
No leaver penality in PvP!

And here is the reason:

If you want people to stay for the match end even when you're sitting on a 600-10 score and you've decided to be ***-hats and spawn-camp, you need to give them a reason. Punishing them is not the answer. That's just pouring salt-acid into an already bleeding wound.

I like Stalwarts - not convinced on the ArPen to 24% argument and shooting for 15/16 (don't forget your DEX bonus now gives you some for free). You aren't always hitting a boss & you lose stat value when you aren't - reducing bosses & elites and zeroing others looks to me a better spend.
Recovery is far from useless - it only helps a bit on encounter CD but more dailies is more damage or more healing.
Don't forget if you get an augment pet to boost your stats, their power is added after yours is doubled, so don't gem them for power (or HP which only they get).

    Well, stalwart = -700Power = -1400 power at all.

The last set Bonus gives +1350 Power per hit = +6750 Power at the maximum of 5 stacks. I case of a full guard meter i get +13500 Power (i dont know, but i think the power set bonus will be doubled too.). Okay lets compare:
    5200-1400=3800+13500=17300 Power if im right.
But ill lose: 400 crit, 700+ ArPen.
Well 400 crit is not that important and im able to push ArPen by using better enchantments.

The main question is: 17300 Power sounds nice, but does this increase my damage heavily? Or will i get something around “100” more screendamage in PvP?! And: I have to get the stacks first! The first hit->low damage. 2nd hit: Normal damage (same power as before). 3rd damage: slightly increased. Well NOW the enemies should be dead in PvP -.-

Is the dex bonus additive tot he final 19%? 17 Dex=+7%=26% ArPen at all. Or is it just a bonus of 7% for the 2000 ArPen i got? (7% of 2000 = 140 = something around 1-1,2% -.-). Im a little bit confused.
And I’d read an artikel about ArPen which says: Enemies demage reduction = 10% (as an example), my ArPen = 20%, enemy is taking 110% damage. Is that correct?!

And: if its not correct ArPen seems to be not that important and I should get more crit?!

Yea its reducing the cooldown. But the effect is very small.

Well I would prefer Crit/ArPen. Power is nice, but the effect is very small.

25 power = +1 damage on abilities (not counting the inherent scaling) so that would be the new base damage + 540 instead of whatever your actual damage is +152-208

The Stalwart set bonus is added after the doubling of your power so it is not doubled.

putting crit and ARP on your pet is what the poster recommended since Power on your pet is added after doubling where as power in your gear is doubled.
