Echoes from the Past - When Deities Die by
@sarezar
Short Code: NW-DSS5H33X4
Mission Type: Storyline - RP - Challenging Combat - Duo - Choices make a difference
Average Duration: First solo play-through with full dialogue: 40-45 minutes. Can be done in 15-20 minutes once you know the quest and skip the dialogue.
Amount of Combat: Average (but with some intense fights)
Starts at: Old Ruins (World Map)
Mission Summary:
In the midst of chaos that followed Vallindra's attack in Neverwinter, the Harpers redirected a considerable amount of their resources on what seems to be a new threat. Only they know, though, that this threat is far from something new.
Your deeds are not unknown to them. You have been summoned to meet them in some old Netherise ruins of no particular interest. However, the allies that you will meet and the enemies that you will face, as your journey begins, are full of surprises.
Author tips/hints
My inspiration for this campaign has come from well known RPGs, where you learn about an impossible mission, gather companions and resources, defeat a seemingly unbeatable enemy, and save the world. I decided to put the effort on a big campaign that is story driven and the player choices matter.
Expect a different experience with each class, and your dialogue choices may have a huge impact on how the quests progress.
This introductory quest sets the theme of the campaign and introduces the main characters to the player. It is also my very first quest in the Foundry. Although I spent 6 weeks working on it, the impact from class and dialogue choices is not too heavy in this first quest. However, this will increase as the campaign progresses and I build more quests.
This quest may be challenging for soloers. Bringing a friend is advised. With good gear (for your level) and tactics for the difficult fights, it is definitely doable as solo. I have tested this in the foundry and in live with all classes on most level ranges. Not rushing is the key - at least for the first play-through.
Since there is a lot of dialogue and some challenging fights, I don't recommend doing this when you are in a rush or if you don't enjoy traditional RPGs.
PS. I really hope the Foundry had a spell checker. Spelling mistakes annoy me but I have written so much text - much of it late at night - and the text boxes are not very user friendly. So, feel free to send a mail in game
@sarezar with any spelling mistakes you have found.

All maps are custom made by myself. I really don't want to spoil much, as the maps are small and a screenshot would show a lot. So, I'll skip this part - at least for now. I have put a lot of effort, though, to create an appropriate setting and atmosphere.
I hope you enjoy the quest. I have received some really positive feedback so far, so I will definitely continue the campaign all the way to the end.
